Yep, delewdid. I posted somewhere further back that Potter’s full remuneration package at Chelsea was the equivalent of a massive chunk of Sunderland’s current turnover - something crazy like his base being 50% of their income. They’re blissfully unaware of their status and position (including when they’re a top flight club). Which eats them up inside - because when they give it the ‘delewdid jawdees think they’re massive’ shite, it is deep down projection - it is what they think of themselves, but they try not to vocalise it too loud because everyone would simply laugh at them.
-
Who exactly did they think they were going to get FFS? I thought we were the ‘delewdid’ ones. NB I thought Beale was going a decent job at QPR before he went to the other Rangers, but he also comes across as an arrogant arse.

The fitness requirements for the sport these last couple of decades have increased hugely - the strain put on the body must be incredible (even for super-fit athletes)

97/98 is the only season since the PL breakaway where all three promoted clubs went down. But none of those sides were close to being as bad as this lot - Bolton and Barnsley were decent (Barnsley played good football, too), and even Palace weren’t completely shite and had some good players.

They’re broken. Just utterly fucking broken. Whatever happens in January, we know we’ve absolutely broken the mad, paranoid clowns. -

Yep. Lost on me why they’d spend their time at the match videoing yourself and your mates. Put the camera phone down and watch the game, ffs

I thought they’d love the SOS being 85% Mackem to 15% Mag. They love Mag-Mackem ratios, and that ratio must be the highest in the north east. -

Have to admit, I thought this one was funny -
I remember him doing that - which would usually get a comment from my dad or uncle about ‘dodgy European keepers flapping instead of catching’. Like you, I was impressed that a keeper could start a counter attack in a split second.
-
I think what’s getting lost on this one is that it wasn’t a display of all-out attacking football; it was just unintelligent football. Schar and Burn were repeatedly further forward than Bruno and Joelinton. Who is more likely to cause damage? Schar gets caught upfield - but our completely disjointed midfield were behind him and had opportunities to stop the attack. We didn’t concede because of some heroic display of Keegan-style attacking football. We conceded because we were stupid and naive. Howe’s comments, for once, were not impressive on this one.
-
He gives nowt away, does he? I love that he doesn’t - and still find it a little annoying that we don’t get those titbits. He’s absolutely right not to, nonetheless.
-
How the fuck do we keep attracting weird, posh Tories though? Grimes is a far right cunt, but it’s understandable that he supports us. Andrews and Hancock? Fuck me.

‘Not available in your country’ What is so controversial that it cannot be shown in Australia?
-
It’s still Man Utd though. Ron Atkinson was sacked when I was a kid after five successive top four finishes and two FA Cup wins because of a shaky start to a season. And this was before Man Utd were the financial juggernaut they are today. They still had the fourth highest turnover in world football last season (second highest in England) - 200m more than Arsenal. He’s not battling against the odds.
-
True - and it could also be the case that the club are seriously reviewing likely funding available for next season based upon potential league finish etc. Dropping out of Europe entirely midweek has financial consequences
-
I’d be donating towards a gold statue of him to be built on Northumberland Street if he’d achieved that here. But it’s Man Utd, not Newcastle.
-
I suspect he’ll be rocking up in a nice shiny car driven by himself if I’m betting on it
