  1. Yep, I'm with you. It is the Rees-Mogg 'foodbanks make me proud to be British' shite. Get to fuck, you Tory bastards.
  2. I'll chuck my two-penneth worth in. Botman was drawn to the ball and left unnecessary space behind him. Burn just played the lad on but pushing the blame onto him is extremely harsh. Tbf all of our defence has been guilty of this over the last couple of months - it is almost as if none of them are aware that there is no pace in the back line to mop up if one of them is caught out. Would love to see a LB and a RCB with some pace come in.
  3. I’d re-read the NO thread. It wasn’t obvious to most. McTominay would also not be backup. He’d be direct competition
  4. Sorry for double-post; obviously someone like Rice would be ideal. But we’re not likely to be shopping in that market this summer. The squad needs bulking with quality - I’m happy to be wrong, but we’re still two or three summers away from spunking the budget on one player
  5. It’s almost as if everyone has forgotten the ‘why would we sign Pope when we have Dubravka’ argument. If he signs, he’s Eddie’s choice and clearly we need another similar player to play the Longstaff does. They’d be direct competition for one another should he sign. If the lad signs, I think Howe has completely earned the right to sign who he thinks fits best.
  6. And that included stadium naming rights. PIF and Sela are right daft twats
  7. Probably because they’re not as keen as chucking the same amount of money at it. KSA isn’t a petty city-state with a tiny population and a colossal amount of oil per capita. It’s a country - and while it is a dictatorship and will chuck money around, it would still be an investment and not a loss-making vanity exercise.
  8. Yep, that’s going to be very difficult to stand up in a tribunal. Correlation still wouldn’t mean causation in that regard.
  9. They’ve entered the ‘denial’ phase
  10. That’s the daft thing about the ‘related party’ shite. We’re owned by the KSA govt (aye, aye, I know - ‘separation’) - which means in reality every single company in KSA will readily make deals with us while still not being directly linked. PIF likely can bring in plenty from around the world due to the influence of the KSA govt. I won’t tell Miguel Delaney if you don’t.
  11. I can already see his neighbour on the news. ‘He seemed like such a quiet lad. Kept himself to himself. It wasn’t until he started going on about Luke O’Nien being better than Bruno that we started having our suspicions’
  12. Tbf even if it’s the majority of RTG I know it isn’t representative of their support. I’m only taking the piss
  13. It’s worth reading the entire thread tbf. It’s not a lone nutter.
  14. I still think it’ll end up around £100m net. The shite I’ve seen about £200m+ is fucking laughable.
  15. ‘Premier Pashuns’ was great mind. Love how the Mackems like to record their failures for a wider audience. Would rather we didn’t have the cameras in, though. Mackem laughs only for me.
  16. We need this rabble to get a result vs Man Utd to make this game even have a purpose. I doubt they will though, so this will be the deadest of dead rubbers. I’m inclined to go for 0-0, but I’ll go 1-1. I doubt any of the players who’ve been playing through the pain barrier will get minutes. I’d love to close with a win though. These will likely turn things around a bit next season, so this represents a chance for a rare win there.
  17. No issue re Squires’ cartoon. I still find calling this ‘sportswashing’ odd, mind. If KSA wanted to use this to change the image of KSA they haven’t done a good job. More people in the UK for starters will be aware of the terrible human rights record of the KSA govt than they were beforehand.
  18. Yeah I agree. He’ll be at Spurs for the foreseeable. It’s the most boring annual transfer story going. He’ll sign a short extension and will until he gets the PL record then bugger off abroad for a final big payday and a few tin pots
  19. Ronnie Gill legend in the most 90s suit possible
  20. What will eat them up most - if this type of introspection is available to them - is that during their ‘6 in a rur’ phase we were being fucking hobbled by a parasitic owner. Look at what we look like one full season after his departure. Yet at the same time, they had a sugar daddy owner who went on to spunk over £100m down the drain on them in a desperate attempt to make into a solid PL club. They need NUFC to be having a shit time and them to be at the most they can be in order to ‘compete’. So they can ask questions like ‘what would we look like if we reached our potential?’, as if it hasn’t already been answered.
  21. crazier and crazier and crazier Thank Christ the UK has robust firearms laws is all I can say. Bunch of fucking loons
  22. Sorry to hear about your loss, though that’s great on the sobriety ? Despite my handle on here, I’m now almost exactly five and a half years alcohol and tabs free
  23. Hard to tell, as a football club’s value bears little relation to its income. Man Utd’s income was four times ours when we were bought - but if they’re sold they’ll go for around seventeen or eighteen times what we did. I suspect the club is worth roughly double the £350m they paid already, though.
  24. I hope she covers David Bowie. ”Hello Newcastle …”
