The smartest clubs always try to move on aging players whilst they can still get a fee that will help them out. Love Trippier but if it's for the clubs benefit then I know where my loyalties are.

Random source but https://africasoccer.com/newcastle-continues-monitoring-ismael-saibari-in-the-africa-cup-of-nations/ PSV fans see him as their next big thing!

I've enjoyed every transfer window under the new owners, but this one. Fuck FFP. When we need it the most, is what makes it worse. Imagine we hadn't been able to bring anyone in during Howe's first January. We would've been fucked imo.

The Europeometer™ (2024/25) - NUFC Qualify for Conference League (at least)

Reminds me of when my father in law, who has no knowledge of football, messages me to say great win when its been a pretty lucky victory in reality, or when we lose by a fluke goal and he will say we were shit. -
I can't see how anyone would come to the conclusion we're poor, unless they just bypass the current circumstances. If anything were actually not doing that bad considering the list of reasons I could list for us underperforming, but those are obvious to me so I won't. Just one thing, we're 10th, 5 points behind 6th placed West Ham. We've been in this situation for a good while now, you'd think we would've dropped much further behind everything considered, but no we're still in the race for European football, with just the 17 games left to play.

If we can get state of the art academy/training facilities and a new stadium out of them before that happens, then I'd be quite happy.

Not sure if it is Nigerian but that Jollof rice they had if done well is amazing!

They don't have any fans based on the last time I visited their stadium, so that won't be a factor. -
Why do they choose such short people to be the goalkeeper?
-
Not the best quality, but is that O'Nien on Isak?

Does a DM have to press that much and have Howe levels of fitness, or can they just sit a little more in front of Botman and Schar without having to run about like an Almiron? With the way we play I'd imagine he'd spend most of his time just guarding for counters, while trippier and the LB push up. Either way, if it's a good fee maybe with an option, then its an extra body for pretty cheap and could really help out in certain situations. I'm for it, but does remind me of a Tierney/Maddison rumour.

Yup, now Kane has gone, the robot and Isak are the best in the league for me. However Isak has more to his game imo than Haaland, a lot more. Irreplaceable, we can't attract or find anyone for that matter with his traits. The ice cold thing describes him perfectly. Still can't believe we got him.

Yeh his speed of thought should be enough on its own, he's lightyears ahead. He should be twisting their players in knots. Think I have an unhealthy obsession with him. -
Imo we have so many areas which need strengthening both quality and depth wise, that losing him would most likely massively benefit us, as sad as that is. We would've been scouting a replacement the second that release clause became a reality.

I agree that the win will make it all even funnier, HOWEVER they've just let us redecorate a bar black and white in their stadium. This one will be a long lasting joke no matter the outcome of the game. -

Was just about to post asking if anyone else thought he might be more of a CM down the line.
