Exactly this. Can anyone name a striker on Isak's level, that would be willing to join us, and wouldn't have a bunch of other clubs after them that can pay higher wages and are more established than us? Hardest position to fill, so would be a major backwards step.
-
Nah nor me, especially after he got us out of that relegation fight.

If a plumber comes round to fix a leak, but his company have provided tools from the middle aisle of LiDL/ALDI, is the plumber at fault? Not saying the owners have given him this situation, but it is the hand he's been dealt. Just don't understand how the current situation is barely being factored in to some people's opinions.

Only positive is PL players are a slightly safer bet. However our signings from abroad are some of our top players, so we're clearly good at scouting them.
-
Thank god it was just a bit of betting, could've been far worse. Think it's a player us as fans should just forget about for now, he can't play and that's that, not worth wasting energy on. When he comes back support him like any other, unless something more comes out between now and then. Unlikely we will ever know the definitive truth of it all, so let's just go down the positive route and do everything we can to keep a player that was signed as one our 'elite' signings.

Watched the highlights of his time at Leeds that was posted earlier, and if it's that player then he looks ideal. Presses, press resistant, very direct quick passing with excellent range, tenacious in the tackle. Feel like he can play the Bruno role, which allows us to either rest him or tactically move him. As it stands I'd take him, provided loan fee wasn't a complete piss take, and that any option to buy was solely based on him smashing it for us over the 2nd half of the season, with a reasonable fee already agree if we wanted to buy him as well. Edit:also this one does seem similar to the Maddison/Tierney links that dragged on and seemed almost inevitable.
-
Yeh nothing was dropping for us, one of those games. Bad performance by our standards, but in terms of the game itself they weren't that much better than us. Probably go and win these tricky fixtures now,
-
What's with the we got smashed theme? Pretty even game the one I watched, they just scored 2 more of their chances. Hating the Trippier crosses, the percentage for how many times it reaches our player must be so low. Were brilliant at exploiting the right side and getting chances to cross, but they just seem close to pointless. Would love to see the actual numbers.

I love this duo!

Missed the first half, why have Lascelles and Miley been taken off?
-
Can't see us not signing him, despite whatever appears to be going on it would go completely against Eddie's thing of not wanting to loan anyone without it being a long term signing. The kid is talented, anyone would know that having watched him against us for Chelsea and in his minutes here. I do get the whole save the money for ffp as we have other areas of the pitch to deal with, but it must be a long term approach were taking, Howe will have a plan this won't just be a well that kids available let's just get him for no reason whatsoever, a dream would've been sold to him. Will be a player we all love in years to come and a toon fan to go with it, everyone should be excited. Every chance he's here for a very long time!

Don't know if it fits the 'system' but my god I want us to get our David Silva! Feels like the one type of player we just don't have, and could be game changing, for Isak in particular.

Ahhhh for me Eddie makes this whole thing feel like it has a soul, rather than just some super rich entity that's going to juggernaut it's way to victory. If I felt like Eddie would be on his way in the near future, I'd be worried as you just never know what's to come, id also be worried about the ownership if they were to move on a manager this well loved, that's done nothing but perform excellently under each shitty circumstance, wether it be picking up where Bruce left off, or dealing with this current injury crisis. I want him here for 10 years, even if it may be unrealistic, these types of managers are few and far between. We could have a Klopp that we win stuff, but the guys a prick. Eddie can win stuff imo, and do it with class and dignity. Not trying to dig you out, just can't help but feel like we've come from such a dire place, to whatever we're experiencing now, I don't want to risk the change unless things go to absolute shit as we look competitively solid, even with the injuries to an extent.
-
Will happen naturally with better players coming in, I think we will then become a side that can pick as and when we apply the whole intensity is our identity thing. Also how can you fully enjoy supporting the team right now if you just think Eddie and co won't be part of it much longer, that must suck.

Newcastle United vs Fulham - 16/12/23 @3pm (No Live TV)

Should've been Sandro. -
Not Man City style, but definitely more of a possession based team than we currently are. I just think that's the way Eddie will go, as the technical ability of the team improves. I'd say with the current squad, the pressing style is our best route to victory. That will likely change. IMO.
-
Anyone think it will suit him better if/when we become a bit more of a possession based team rather than the whole intensity/pressing thing, which we can barely manage currently?
-
Yeh that's it, and the stretches. Obviously it's some bullshit training thing for the media, but just found it funny.
-
This guy in the training video at 4.22 haha

But 96% of Man Utd fans do demand a team that wins, and that's why they support the Red Devils across the globe.
