Was a big drop off in the immediate seasons too. Bombed a Champions League group of Legia Warsaw, Rosenborg and Sptk Moscow and were midtable in the PL 95/96 (previously been 4th, 2nd, 1st) Were in a relegation battle as early as 96/97.

Who Hall or Osula? Said in the post he looked good for Chelsea if Hall. Said in the post your responding to he was better than okay against Birmingham so what's the arguement. Missed an open goal from the goal line, that's got to count against a bit. Said in another thread that I'd play him ahead of Wilson every time so another instance where the aggression was not necessary. Based on all the logic thus far. which is what I'm doing, he doesn't look good enough. Based on theories and things behind the scenes and in the future none of us know - he might be. Can tell we've lost a game mind.

Not winning another PL game this season these. West Ham's their best bet and cant even see that.
-
Spurs though. They'd snap your hand off for an excuse to down tools. Always been the case.
-
That just bums me out on so many levels. Absolutely stinks. Out of their depth in the Premier League and basically making a paid vacation of it to focus on an inferior cup that the actually winning of the cup is insignificant in.
-
Burnley might, might, have a chance because of how tight they are. May be the way future promoted sides have to be to avoid being cannon fodder given how far behind the next worse teams they are. Speaking of next worst teams, cant think of any team/club I'd less want to be in the trenches with than Spurs. They feel somehow even more powderpuff when they could do you a turn.

They've decided to claim 40k every match instead of the usual 38k ever since our women's team got 38k. Fancy that.

Just a few shouts Napoli 86, 90 champions and effectively the best team in the world, 89 UEFA cup winners. Serie B by 98. Serie C a few years later. Sampdoria CL final 92, cup winners cup winners 90, finalists 89, semi-finalists 95 - relegated 99.
-
Sadly we'll never know the bliss of your vastly superior rivals having setbacks at a level far beyond yours, one you've never seen your club be at or close to and never will.
-
When was the last time or has there been a time when we've took maximum points from relegated teams, because this is the final hurdle? Got as far back as 80/81 without that having happened.
-
Just think its our old problem of averages, eventually they're all going to not have a good game because at present only Gordon/Barnes can be alternated. Even the best players, unless midfield spoilers, are only going to play well 90% of the time at best. Baby out with the bathwater stuff to suggest there's any alternative.

Hall looked good before his run, was good for Chelsea against us. Osula's looked like a donkey except for against Bromley and Birmingham and wasn't much better than okay in those games
-
That 01/02 game with them heading towards relegation and us fighting for the champions league was very frustrating, could have cost us. Just getting that out the way.
-
Were having to play the same defence every game because of injuries mind and three of them are past 30.
-
Agree with both the points above. Actually been wondering if Brighton's thing hasn't peaked and they're a wretched watch. Not that that matters, even when they've been rubbish the last nice game down there for us was 89
-
I'm saying this as someone who doesn't rate Osula and will be shocked if has a PL career with anyone but at least there's a chance of him doing something, being a nuisance at worst.

Won 4 (4-0, 5-1, 1-3, 3-0) lost two
-
Man City are/were never not making the CL. Its two from Forest, us, Villa and Chelsea.
-
Shit but nothing I didn't expect (or predict on here) likewise that things would swing against us this week re the CL. Was too much to ask for things to keep going as they were and too much to ask for them to get dumped out of the CL twice in a week. Considerably smaller squad and thus no fresher despite their CL campaign than them and Emery has a massive hard on for Tindall after all the times we've tore the arse out of them.
-
Big game. Big clubs but refereshing that its not the exact same stakes but between some "big six" combination which would just feel generic. That's how I'd feel if I was a neutral.

Been trying to think ever since what goal it reminded me of. Kept coming up with Shearer for Blackburn v Chelsea with Gullit diving in because Shearer checked a second before smashing it in and realised just now it was a Robert goal against someone where he just blooted it through the keeper. Barnes goal was way better than both. Power and accuracy unerring.

33yrs - since 92. Our lowest ever league position. Finished one point behind them.

Don't know the context but was trouble in our match thread last night. A moderator had to delete posts between mackems arguing with each other and tell them off for trying to get two long term Sunderland fans they accused of being Mag trolls banned. Like others have pointed out it will likely only be comments akin to "hate them, but got to admit they're a good side' and 'what a goal that is'. Discombobulation in action.

No pleasure in saying it but looks completely out his depth. Looks like McClen in there now.

His goals and goal involvements per game must be tasty Hope that's just a case of all the substitutions disrupting the flow of the game as well as the game circumstance.
