33yrs - since 92. Our lowest ever league position. Finished one point behind them.

Don't know the context but was trouble in our match thread last night. A moderator had to delete posts between mackems arguing with each other and tell them off for trying to get two long term Sunderland fans they accused of being Mag trolls banned. Like others have pointed out it will likely only be comments akin to "hate them, but got to admit they're a good side' and 'what a goal that is'. Discombobulation in action.

    Sean Longstaff

No pleasure in saying it but looks completely out his depth. Looks like McClen in there now.

    Harvey Barnes

His goals and goal involvements per game must be tasty Hope that's just a case of all the substitutions disrupting the flow of the game as well as the game circumstance.
  5. Can only presume the logic in Wilson over Osula is to play Wilson into some sort of form, just getting a goal, and maybe something like what we've had over the years which would be massive for us at this point. You're not going to get that from Osula though he'd be more likely to get a goal and make things happen on the night, for all I don't rate him, least not at this level.
  6. Used to be. Wish they'd bring it back because these run ups look like shit and are a total cop out.

Loves a 4th. He's a right Albert for getting in on the act. Will enter the conversation one day about what our best ever pound for pound signing was

    Harvey Barnes

That's was another one of those where he knew he was scoring so may as well do so with aplomb

    Marc Guehi

Should have come to a big club. From his perspective. Big club's doing juuust fine.
  10. Chances for City and/or Chelsea to drop something this weekend. Don't think we will on account of it being too much and too good - but if we beat Villa and points are dropped there. It'd demoralise everyone else, suspect they'll be only thinking about 4th and 5th from that point.

    Kieran Trippier

For big games I've just been happy to have his nous and leadership out there, he's as good as I've seen for that. But he's been brilliant since getting regular games. Wonder if the Hall/Tino games in his stead that's brought this form about.
  12. Compared him to Demetrio Albertini a while back. Italy international, Milan, similar type of player, same position, similar look. That's harsh on Sandro. Team and him both fully fitted together and bubbling now. We'd have been all right (CL) last season just with his being available its fair to estimate.
  13. Well this is going just perfectly now, Isak's notched. Cotton wool whenever you're ready now
  14. Some restings coming up. Usually disrupts the momentum rather than add to it as far as the game goes but useful in the bigger picture. Would like to keep Isak on for a goal though.
  15. Your heart will have sunk seeing this if you're one of the other contenders. The sheer momentum and form is stampeding enough.
  16. Haha, I've been there. Was on my way to work when read a text/email from this Spurs fan I was in touch with over a matter. He asked "'what's Ashley actually done wrong anyway?" - got into responding to that and next thing I knew I was one stop away from missing my stop and had to finish the text/email later.
  17. Hate that narrative and the willful ignorance to just go with it rather than think about it for a minute or do a bit of research. Its one thing to not know the inner workings of another club - free advertising, one token board memeber, the training ground farce - but surely you notice when a club that's never been in a relegation battle in the PL era is in them most seasons and getting relegated twice. Its obvious the Venky's are bad owners just from Blackburn's performances under them and its not as stark as with us. Aside from everything else that's been mentioned we were 5th in the all time Premier League table when Ashley bought us - 40points ahead of Spurs from 42 less games, during his spell we were 70points ahead of Stoke having played 76 more games. Wouldn't wish him on anyone but those ignorant enough to want him. Maintain he's only interested in cleaving money out of an established situation and any club he owns will be deliberately less than itself to facilitate that rather than trying to improve anything
  18. Had a considerably easier run. Reckon we might have managed Leipzig, Celtic and Club Bruges three times
  19. These are tricky customers and habitual perveyors of poor football matches. Never got anything to play for in the league themselves, their highlights are damaging others aspirations - suits them - mindful of that and the response from losing five at City. Would take a scratty win now.

They've a worse record than Boro in every way in the last half-century. PL, D1, Europe, Trophy, cup finals. There's not many can say that.
  21. Taking a positive from that. Had a few illnesses in recent years where I couldn't be arsed to even type out a message. Though am more Bruce than Howe with the work ethic admittedly
  22. Just taking each game as it comes. Don't think were sauntering away here. Think we've the hardest run in of everyone.
  23. 91-95 had a hint of blue. If we had a tertiary colour it was blue. A blue fleck on the shorts 91-93, blue on the collar and I think the rim of the sleeves and socks 93-95. Plus of course the blue star which ruled.

    Jason Tindall

Whose going to do the Tindall role of minding his own business in the technical area but winding up tossers?
  25. Can just add that hope being a workaholic like he is its deferred exhausation, a yuppie flu of sorts, as otherwise being a workaholic, fit and relatively young it'd take something and its a bit worrying.
