The popularity of attending football games has changed the mach going fan more than you realise until you look back at certain away days. I remember Barnsley away in championship in 09/10 season, the away end seemed to be 7500 x 18-30 year olds and let's be honest a trip to Barnsley isn't as glamorous as Anfield. As an 18/19 at the time that season definitely peaked for me as best years following Newcastle, and let's be honest if those who propped up the support that year were at wembley be far better than what I expect it will be in a few weeks time.
