  1. Exactly this, the penalty thing makes me laugh, if he is the dedicated penalty taker for this season and hasn't missed one any are people questioning why he takes them?
  2. Oh absolutely, any trophy has to deemed as biggest success and trumps anything for me, one thing I love about Howe id he takes the cups serious. I think Europa league should be achievable and it's crucial we play Europe again, ideally Europa league over conference.
  3. People keep saying this but in the past 4 seasons it looks like us and Villa will qualify twice so it shouldn't be written off even if it is unlikely. I think Europa league has to be achieved next year given the likes of Brighton Forest and probably Bournemouth will qualify this year.
  4. We have the 5th highest net spend in the league in the past 5 seasons. My point is the last 3 seasons we finished 4th, 7th and 5th, we have to strive towards that this season surely?
  5. How did we overachieve, we finished up there 3 seasons running, so have Villa overachieved? Man utd might go from 16th to champions league. We need to switch from this mentality like that we overachieved and are little old Newcastle, we spent far far more than teams getting Europa league/conference league etc.
  6. I agree but that has to be the aim, if we are setting for less than Villa there's something wrong in my opinion, we have spent more and they came back up after us.
  7. But we were there 2 times In last 3 seasons. If Villa quality given they spent less than us I don't see why that isn't the aim.
  8. We have to be aiming for champions league again it's simple as that, I don't buy this we need a season to rebuild and then push on the following year,we have finished 4th, 7th 5th, the owners will be pushing for them heights the amount they have Invested. I also think we might explore the European market more and get players in early on to build a team early and not chasing last minute in the Transfer window
  9. Really pleased Spurs won after we won yesterday...just remember Villa and Sunderland singing Sob on the Tyne together couple of weeks back. Hopefully Forest get job done Thursday also.

Think that's very harsh on him, also you can play with more than one system, we did yesterday In 2nd half. Give him 3 months in summer and Eddie might work with him and adapt his game.
  11. Was strange season, some of the football we played that year was very good, remember West Brom away and Chelsea away etc but we also had some hammerings away. Spurs 5-0, Wigan 4-0 Norwich 4-2, was like we were brilliant away or awful and no inbetween.

I don't get this view of he can't play out system get rid... Why not look at ways to get him in to a formation in the summer. Let's be honest after the season we've had we maybe need to look at new ideas and we won't just be able to spend a load freely so why not give him a chance.
  13. His game management was far better today, switching formations in the 2nd half also helped. Hopefully we can kick on and get a little run of form to end season.
  14. Absolute nonsense mind, I'm first to call out atmosphere/support but why are supporters getting called fickle or entitled for being worried about our position, we could be 9 points behind Sunderland later today so people being negative I imagine is expected. Also why do people read into these stupid troll accounts? I'm fully backing Eddie and the lads and majority are but I'm not sure how fans are deemed as fickle for being concerned that we could be 16th by end of the weekend. There's no club that would go from 5th one season to 15th/16th with 4 games left to play and have fans worried, that just football.
  15. The bar has to 7 points, 6 minimum, we are playing 2 teams below us. People need to switch from this mentality like we are like the Newcastle under Ashley, with the investment and seasons we have of late 44 points is simply not good enough. We have to go into next season ending with some good results.
  16. A draw v Brighton doesn't show the players can still put in a performance, they finished below us last season and we massively outspent them, 3 points is a minimum.
  17. Tomorrow is absolutely massive, if results go against us we could be 16th and 3 points ahead of West Ham... Genuine question, people keep mentioning we missed out on our number one transfers but do you think we are the only club who do? Spurs lost out on Eze and Gibbs White but I doubt people are posting in the Spurs thread are mentioning that for their drop off.
  18. my point is that Tonali's agent came out making comments trying to get him in transfer window but far less uproar than Bayern being linked to Gordon, then he missed the Sunderland game, he probably did have a knock but it's funny how when Gordon misses a game again there is far more uproar and fans saying he doesn't want to play. Just saying there is 2 very different narratives.
  19. Funny how fans are saying Gordon isn't genuinely injured and wants away yet Tonali gets mom for Italy 4 days after the Derby and no one questions it and say he was injured. Say want you be he gets singles out more than any other player and let's be honest this season he's been best player in the front 3.

I'd start him at weekend TBF, I do find it strange how fans have just written him off when he's barely played, we've scored 3 goals in our last 4 games, might as well give him a go.
  21. It's a huge game like, if we win 3 out of our remaining 4 it will show some fight and desire, and given we have 2 teams below us in the league also. Lose Saturday and that will be 6 straight defeats in a row (5 in the league).
  22. Any club would take Haaland or Kane, I don't get this narrative than strikers who are goal machines aren't "good footballers" Haaland movement is unbelievable
  23. The Brighton game is massive and will be a telling factor, I didn't read anything into the Arsenal result as they have been so cagey off late and we didn't lay a glove on them. We could be behind forest next weekend, a team who look dead and buried earlier in season.
  24. Not at all, reading through here no one is expecting season on season improvement, we finished 7th the year after our first year in the champions league and is was still a very good and positive season, we are 14th this year and 20 points worse off than this stage last year which is why some fans are concerned but are still behind the team.
  25. There was a lot to play for...local pride in a derby and qualifying for Europe. I think the biggest worry for me is just no reaction to that derby defeat, to me that was one of the most important games of the season, win that and I think the momentum builds.
