  1. Personally I think this sets the wrong tone for the rest of the team... Often why it's such a poor performance in cup games when the stars on the bench and not just for us... I don't have a problem with pre defined minutes if needed but think you should start with the strongest setup. If true what TCD gas just posted then it's moot.
  2. Why do you persist with this narrative?

    Alexander Isak

TBF he was talking about after the world cup and Tuchel's contract but still very disrespectful to all parties

    Alexander Isak

Talkshite wheeled out Harry Redknapp this morning to tout Isak to the highest bidder and Howe to England... It does seem relentless at the minute but push comes to shove there's not many out there that can afford the fee we'd demand, next summer could be very different but that's for future us to worry about!
  5. Unless he's asking for a monstrous wage then they'd be made not to give him a decent length deal... he's rarely injured, comes across as extremely dedicated and still class! Plus the sweetener would be at the first sign of any performance drop they could still sell him for a massive chunk of change

    Harvey Barnes

As much as my hatred f Liverpool makes me want to disagree, I simply can't... We really need to score first to have any chance, I appreciate we can't be overly naïve and get picked off but we do need to rattle them. I found the last final so frustrating as we never really laid a glove on them after the wanky first goal that I still maintain was a dive! Might be biased though
  7. All that hard work and impressive play undone by a shit goalkeeper!
  8. Yep standard Arthroscopy to clean up bone fragments \ trim cartlidge etc. would be a quick recovery time but would be too tight for the final in my opinion, not a doctor but I have had 5 of the buggers!

    Lewis Hall

He got dispossessed so easily taking someone on around the half way line and struggled to get back but that was just after he came on, I was raging as he looked so slow but fair do's improved quite a bit after that. Totally agree Tino on the left and Trippier right would be my choice too
  10. Hahaha totally agree, just look at the millions Chelsea are raking in from the conference league We would stand a realistic chance of winning it but given the potential to derail a domestic season I'm not sure I'd want to be in it and I can't see it being a massive carrot for the players either
  11. Fair enough but those teams Forest in particular are having stella seasons similar to Leicester winning the league, financial advantage is longer term \ ongoing league position I would argue. Brighton have spent a fair old whack this season too far more than us and probs more than most... I appreciate they sold well too which funded it but the fact remains they spent circa £250 million Personally I think top five is over achievement for this squad as opposed to failure if we don't get there and don't really give a toss what has happened to Man U or Spurs or any other club to be honest. I will get heartly sick of the press ramming Forest and \ or any other supposed small club reaching the champions league down our throat though same as Villa last year
  12. To take to ridiculous proportions put Shearer and Kluivert in then lol Unless I am mistaken you are criticizing Howe for being behind Forest despite having better players but in my opinion you need to take current availability and performance into as well especially long term availability... As I said earlier if you were picking a team from both sets of players to play a cup final in the the next couple of weeks Botman isn't in it and neither are Schar or Burn
  13. Discussion is about current performance is it not? If I was picking a team to save my life for this weekend it would not include Botman

    Anthony Gordon

That was the exact same challenge that Big Jo got booked for in the first half. Lamptey could have had 3 yellow cards before he got his second too!
  15. The frustrating thing for me is that he has played the square ball to a better placed player several times over the years including in the World Cup when England were miles ahead so would have excusable to choose the greedy option, seemed like one of the first times he's put self before team... Probs just instinct though after the long lay offs and we still won so hey ho
  16. Played non league with Billy Askew and Archie Gourlay after they left the Toon, two of the funniest team mates I've ever had but to think of them in the Premier League oosh! Fereday too made Obertan look cultured! but yeah Almiron Premier league and and Champions league goal scorer was the gold standard! Granted I'm old but a bit of perspective, please

    St James' Park

For me football is too fast paced and personally I'm too nervous to safely drink pints at my seat... even in the house I guzzle the them watching us. Cricket is perfect for watching with a beer, I imagine Rugby too but never watched it whereas football I think you're either too invested or the impact of a goal, decision is too high for drinking in the stands. I don't follow US sports mega closely but I can imagine NFL and MBL being better to watch with a beer than NBA for similar reasons but as always happy to be educated by those who know more
  18. Yes of course, sorry misread the fixture list and thought it was the return league game not the semi final second leg.
  19. Fair enough, would prefer him to miss Southampton than Arsenal which is two games away
  20. Not certain but isn't Joelinton close to a yellow card ban? If it can lesson the danger of him missing a higher profile game \ grab a rest then might be worth it... hate to take games for granted especially away from home but Southampton aren't the best
  21. Totally agree with this and said so when Man U beat hungover Man City to relegate us out of Europe... However it is an immensely winnable competition but ultimately would it be treat similar to the Fairs Cup?
  22. Totally agree - I've said before it was one of the most galling things about letting Rafa go was that the team didn't need that much tweaking, towards the end of that season we had played some good stuff (relative to the time, squad level etc.) with Rondon through the middle and Perez & Miggy in behind him... Binning Rafa & Rondon for Bruce and a more expensive Joelinton looked like madness, obvs I didn't predict the midfield transformation of the Brazilian Colossus!
  23. We do indeed - probs got lost in the myriad of posts but you seemed to mentioning resale values and Tomori a lot which prompted the genuine question... apologies if you perceived it as a dig
  24. Said before it's a tough one when you have one stand-out option but you really need quality backup \ alternatives... Spurs had it for years with Kane, us to a lesser extent with Shearer but most teams played two up front which helped with that one. Without the big club reputation and less fixtures it's hard single out a target but I do like the Liverpool options and the way they have built and refreshed their forward line recently and that is tough for me to admit as I am no lover of Liverpool...
