  1. Apologies if I’m getting this wrong but do you really want us to act and operate like Brighton? By consensus we having an awful season, yet they are still below us and have never been in the Champions League and made Europe once. The media tout them as this model of a well run club simply because they offer zero threat to the establishment and are happy to finish 14th thru 9th every year.
  2. If the players who don’t play well enough to qualify Europe demand to leave because of no European football then fuck em, all honesty! I support Newcastle United not A Player FC
  3. Lighten up, was only teasing… good players are good players but usually experienced internationals will have a better than fair share of stalling well. The others well depends on character, coaching, environment you bringing them into and patience… reading recently it seems patience is in short supply. Not pointing that at you… just general against a lot posts recently
  4. World Cup winner before signing for Arsenal wasn't he? Slightly different from inexperienced teenager... Obviously never a guarantee as I remember our 'awesome' world cup winning French centre forward signed by Kenny D...
  5. Last time Carrick was involved in the coaching setup she called Keane a prick or cunt on social media… he never forgets or fails to get his revenge no matter how childish

It is or certainly was the Newcastle Evening Chronicle! Fuckers shouldn’t even be in there!
  7. Signed a new contract after the summer that included the release clause.
  8. Played well against Man Utd recently too
  9. No doubt very skilful but Cherki looks very slow to me.
  10. Hear this a lot and agree he’s a good manager but the current league table suggests they are not competing for much. Certainly wouldn’t sack Eddie Howe to bring him in.
  11. It's gone on for years to be honest, I remember being in the East Stand and group absolutely getting stuck into Silvio Maric - all fine and dandy for a lot people as he didn't pull up any trees but at the time the poor fucker was sat on the bench!
  12. It's been said enough times but Gillespie is a training tool and is paid for simply being there to help with training \ additional shooting drills etc. No problem with that at all! If Wissa, Woltemade, Gordon etc. want to stay late and practice then he stays with them and is the keeper they work with, the same would go for any up and coming attacking player who should be staying back to improve pretty much everyday. Would you rather Pope and Ramsdale exhaust themselves doing the extra work or a youth keeper stunt his development via over use injuries?

    Jacob Ramsey

Only one game but if Minteh performed for us the way he played for Brighton today there’d be hell on! Looked like he’d won a raffle to get on the pitch, absolutely woeful
  14. Me too! Really dislike Brighton but definitely gained an advantage from the handball and high foot

Hahaha yep can't really argue with you there! Hopefully you would see lots of pretty patterns as we cut Burnley to pieces but... Personally I would take any seat in the ground over TV but not knocking anyone and do appreciate the level 7 issues, I was pretty bored up there watching England the last time they visited

Totally get what you mean re atmosphere and being detached from the game but I like the view for spotting tactics, movement etc. I loved watching Barcelona from up there many years ago and seeing how big they made the pitch when in possession etc. Much prefer it to TV but with obvious matchday experience limitations like you say but I am getting old!

    Nick Pope

Yep no argument there but not a huge sum especially if he and us have a strong end to the season and builds good relationships with defence etc.

    Nick Pope

Personally and probably naive I wouldn’t be in hurry to go for Trafford given history and lack good performances in the Premier League. If Ramsdale does excel and gains the team’s trust then would be happy enough to stick, given other needs
  19. Agree with you on this... I hadn't seen that much of him but the video that was shared pre signing a lot of his movement, positioning and lay offs etc. seemed really intelligent. Just goes to show the danger of highlights videos but also still gives (me at least) hope that he can still come good for us, after all he hasn't been here half a season yet!
  20. Gave up getting wound up by transfers a long time ago and it’s probably yet more fabricated nonsense but is he better than Longstaff, is Ramsey better than Willock? If the answer is yes then the squad is improved and if not then the people making those judgments will eventually lose their jobs. There are loads of posts in various threads complaining about the drop off when first teamers aren’t available and the lack of rotation. Only to see bedlam when we’re linked with a fairly cheap option that would help with that.
  21. Not sure about the rest but I know how hard Robbie Elliott worked and studied after his playing career... He's in the States now (or was) working for the US National Federation as Strength and Performance Expert at youth level for both men's and women's football. Struggling to remember dates but I think he got that job immediately after leaving a strength and conditioning role with us.

Cheers, enjoyed reading that! Couple of years older than me (I think) loads of skill and an unreal first touch but probs not quite quick or strong enough for the very top. Similar to Lee Clark really. Nice lad, though always enjoyed playing against him! Cheers again, I’ve enjoyed the nostalgia hahaha Us oldies need to stick together

Shaun Murray was another one you guys chucked the kitchen sink at to move from the North East to North London. Rumour at the time was his cousin got a contract as well but purely to keep him company! Like you say it’s gone on for years… plus you turn full time at 16 so it’s a move away regardless unless you’re at your local club. Being dumped with zero support at 16 or 18 was always more grim than someone throwing cash at you & your parents

I am probably mis remembering but I read or heard radio discussion that Spurs use the stadium depreciation costs to offset the interest in their PSR calculations. The depreciation was slightly higher than the interest too so actually helped. This would have a year or more ago so could be out of date or simply me getting it wrong.
