Really? Haven't you always done that? Why the fuck would the youth teams play anything other than the first team (most used) formation unless you are just desperate to win things at that level...
-
Yes they have spent loads, I’ve long argued that they spend heavily but it always gets overlooked especially during the Turkey Teeth love in.
-
Similar to Conte & Mourinho in that he falls out with every club fairly quickly but… if he won a trophy I’d forgive pretty much anything

I agree, I think, I always feel I'm too old to fully understand your posts I would love us to build a forward pool a la Liverpool's despite hating that club... It will be very difficult though. To be honest I've never known Newcastle to have a squad full of options it's like it's alien to us... We have some cracking teams over the years but always had a big drop off when anyone was injured. I do like some of the moves they have made to bolster the academy so praying they can come off!
-
Delap wouldn't have moved from City's bench to ours but I agree with the sentiment... Liverpool have as strong a pool of forwards of anyone including City but they are all slightly different which makes the rotation easier. Plus it helps that Salah scores more than some clubs! Obviously PSR restricts our every move but similar to when Kane was at Spurs it's difficult to sign another top forward when your first choice is real quality

Hated Liverpool since the early eighties... BBC then and SKY now treat them differently and ram them down your throats as this shrine of holiness and don't get me started on 'those special Anfield nights' and that shit poster in the tunnel! I'd never minded Arsenal but the Spanish Big Sam gets right on my tits as does their online fan base although most clubs have that these days, so that leaves Chelsea, Man City & Man Utd not a great choice but City are the least offensive (to me) out of that list

Queue was so big Bellamy got sent off seconds after getting to my seat! If memory serves Shearer got a retrospective ban for I think an elbow… meaning Shola and Lua Lua were the front two for the next couple of games
-
Yep that was my thoughts too
-
I might be mis-remembering most of the Ashley years are now shrouded in a mist of anger and disbelief! But didn't he usually spend more after relegation that he ever did to avoid it?
-
Great typo! Paelladyce the butter bugger has made my afternoon, class! 🤣🤣🤣

At the time all reserve games were played on the club ground, Keegan hated that and wanted them to move to Kingston Park to protect the pitch at St James' but in typical fashion got over emotional at any challenge and spat the dummy out walking away from the league... In fairness to him it wasn't long after that the all clubs moved the reserve matches to other venues and there are no reserve teams as such now so he had a point but just went about it in the wrong manner
-
If they are playing to their maximum and we miss out and they leave then I'll be disappointed but as you say hopefully the rebuild from the sales would lessen the blow but if they play all season in poor form then I would question if they really wanted to be here anyway or are they as good as we hope \ believe. Personally from the two mentioned I think, if they are both at maximum then they can drag us to Europe and if it's the latter then they would be honest enough to hold their hands up and have another go the following year. Either way as talented as they are, not one player is bigger than the club

Thanks - I thought I had read £35 million somewhere that seemed crazy so that would make sense... The lesser London teams always seem to pay extra for their bigger neighbors cast offs but £25 mill for Joe would certainly help PSR but sentimental me would be disappointed to see him go... Good job I'm not in charge as we'd have a squad of 50 and lose 20 points a season to PSR

How much did Fulham pay for ESR this summer? Possibly better player but similar injury history so arguably similar price? Loved Willock in the season we finished 4th, the Jo's combining on the left was some of the best football I've seen at St. James' since Keegan's team
-
My assumption for the Guehi deal was for him to play left til Botman returned then move over but only after Botman has been eased back, dangerous to believe he'll be back firing at full speed immediately on return... VVD last year is proof of that
-
Totally agree! I also think he needs to find a solution to Bruno and Tonali clicking together... All season there has been something a bit 'off' in midfield that I'm struggling to put my finger on to describe properly never mind fix but I guess that's why I work in IT and not football management
-
Devil’s advocate but is there anywhere argument that if they play the majority of games and we finish outside Europe they don’t deserve to stay?
-
Gossip at the time was he disliked Bruce and was not going to sign a new contract if he was still manager... probs not worth a hill of beans but that was deffo doing the rounds on the coast where he lives. I can imagine him not wanting to bad mouth someone on a podcast though and all the negative PR that would come with it
-
Yep totally agree - the supporters can and will do pretty much anything but the social media post coming from the club is beyond small time! Scouse mackems is the perfect description
-
You may think it's daft but it's cool to have somewhere with the history it has... shame it's been left to rot somewhat but there are good indoor facilities next door as well, would you bulldoze that? I love football, made a living playing it a lifetime ago but the attitude that every other sport doesn't matter really pisses me off to be honest.

I was told (never been myself so could be bollix) that Levy wanted the Spurs food and drink to be less expensive than the surrounding area to try and get fans in earlier and staying longer after games when they were first building the ground
