His attitude and output has always been good! His clumsiness has annoyed me in the past and I didn’t see much in his all round game but he has improved a lot. Fair play to him and the posters who have championed him! Hoping that he keeps it up but firmly think he can

One of the noisier Dads at my daughter’s football training was spouting similar a few weeks back… seemed bollocks but who knows
-
Met him a couple of times running on the sea front between Whitely Bay & Tynemouth a couple of summers ago... We were running similar pace and gradually got chatting, he came across as an incredibly grounded and top man, couldn't speak anymore highly of him.
-
Agree with you! Difficult to solve though unless you are spending top dollar or do we alter formation to keep a Burn \ Schar in the back line presuming they deemed as unable to play as a partner to either of the others across the whole season
-
From memory unused sub in both games.
-
I do yes, being English teacher I understand most words oops there I go again! It was a probably misguided tease of the poster who seemed to take it well. Sorry it upset your possibly misogynistic tendencies
-
Sorry probably being a bit thick but not sure what you mean, I believe decent professionals should try hard regardless of them winning trophies or not. I don’t have a problem with mercenaries they normally work their arses off to guarantee the next pay day

c) be a sanctimonious prick trying to ridicule other posters and de value women?
-
What about the 1 v 1 in the first couple of minutes or the chance Bruno fucked up from the edge of the box mid way through the first half?
-
Thanks, may have misread the initial post but is seemed to suggest he was still missing for Brighton
-
You are correct there wasn’t but there were a lot of players we attempted to sign but didn’t. Probs his fault, at this point everything is. Also I assume he didn’t sign the players we did in the expectation they’d be shit! At what point does player accountability kick in?
-
Genuinely curious, what do you mean by technical possession based football? Unless I’ve misread the dreaded stats, very possible, in the last 3 losses we have had more possession in each game but have created little. Would the aim be to be like City? They amaze and annoy me in equal measure… I despise Liverpool but some of the football they played under Klopp was undeniably brilliant and again could be wrong but they didn’t always dominate the ball. PSG are probably the best team to watch at the moment ironically unless they play us! But we’d need a massive spend to get to their level… Apologies for the long winded post!

I’d like to think a record signing that hasn’t that great a history in top flight football would have the hunger and pride to show his worth in training. Team sport is fairly simple, you’re not playing then prove you should be! Messi, Ronaldo, Shearer, Giggs, Keane all famously shite in training
-
He can’t close down shots at the edge of the box either but I’ve seen posts blaming him for the goal.
-
He missed Bournemouth and today didn’t he?
-
In what universe was Ardilles a successful manager?
-
What on earth does that mean?
-
You'd be surprised! Plus I'll bet he would always show something that proved he was top drawer... Plenty of anecdotes from players confessing to how much he twisted them up in training but training was probably more fun back then too! Plus you could argue that his back catalogue of hits playing at the sharp end of Serie A give him a lot more leeway than the majority or all of the current squad
-
I had the worst spaghetti carbonara of my life there, probs when it first opened... He deserves to be dropped if he can't find better scran in the city than there
-
My preference is staying with Howe but totally agree re pre season. If the club have any doubts then the change must happen at the end of the season and not mid season. Unless there is serious risk of relegation it just writes off another year doing it pre Christmas
-
Apologies for going over old ground but if that is even close then it's another example of him not doing his job... Surely the role of the DoF is to manage the relationship with the manager \ head coach one way and the Chief Exec in the other is it not? A well researched list of players filling the glaring holes in the squad would not be simply rejected by any manager \ head coach simply out of pettiness, I will accept that they may well have been push back but there should be and that is the challenge of the DoF to overcome it, not simply chuck his toys out the pram. If indeed that is what happened. Could be wrong but aren't our two or three most expensive signings ever from overseas with zero PL experience?
-
Humbly disagree especially re Vardy even with hindsight... DCL's fitness has improved as he has played most weeks, we would have been expecting to use him as backup and the previous fitness issues would have been a major red flag against this. Again no real knowledge same as everyone but IMHO Howe inherited any influence he was given because the lazy fat fuck of a DoF fucked off when it came time to hand his homework in after procrastinating for a year. Do you honestly think the manager would turn down a list of highly researched potential signings good enough to bolster his squad and help him achieve his aim of winning football matches?
-
Harsh on Rush and Barnes in IMHO as neither should have been anywhere near here and Dalglish is to blame for that... You could see from Barnes how good he had been just from a couple of touches \ passes but his legs had gone and Rush was simply finished and had been for years.

He may well be, personally I doubt it and certainly hope he's not but the shields gazette is an awful source, right down there with football insider etc. or maybe even worse as the regurgitate from those awful sites too.
