  1. If your flapping about no signings at this point, sorry, but your unwell! It's the 13th of June, we don't restart the season next week, we don't even return to pre season for a month or so, I don't want to be harsh with my words but it's honestly bordering on moronic. (That's the politest way I can word it!) I really thought that winning that 1st trophy would've changed the mentality of the fanbase but shockingly to me so many still want to cling on to the negativity and despair. I don't remember who made the post but they hit the nail on the head when they said it doesn't matter the name of who we actually sign, because whoever it is we know they'll be the right fit. Our recruitment has been 10/10, we have every reason to trust the people in charge of the process from top to bottom. So chill the fuck out, embrace the rumours, and whilst you reflect on the greatest season in our lifetime, be ready for it to be topped!
  2. They'll very much care about the 100m for winning it
  3. Data's not everything but think using it for Goalkeeping performance is fair: Save% Pope is 9th GA per 90 he's 7th Playing time is 14th Saves he's 13th Pass completed % he's 17th Number of defensive actions outside of the box he's 2nd Here's a link if anyone wants to look for more positive data for Pope - https://fbref.com/en/comps/9/keepersadv/Premier-League-Stats Attempted to be balanced as possible, but I'm not seeing anything to suggest he's this top class keeper in other areas to accept his woefulness with his feet. Sure eye test also matters, but we are likely to be biased in that regard and the data here matters in my opinion. We are a top 6 team, we want to be CL most seasons, I'm not seeing anything in the data except his ability as a sweeper keeper, which I'd agree he's very good at, to suggest we should continue with Pope as our #1.
  4. Must be so amusing when you negotiate with Man U and you just know they'll pay what you want, daft cunts!
  5. Fuck Ashley, fuck any discussion about Ashley, and fuck Man U!
  6. Southampton 1-0 West Ham 0-1 Leicester 0-3 Man U 4-1 Chelsea 2-0 Didn't score in any of these games which we won mate. I do agree with you though that a backup Striker should be very high priority, we need someone to take the load off.
  7. In the league he fully missed 4 games: Liverpool away lost 2-0 Arsenal away lost 1-0 City home drew 1-1 Everton away drew 0-0 Wolves away he only played first half, we were losing 1-0 when he went off, we won 2-1. Palace away 1-1 he played 22 minutes. This means very little, Isak is Elite, but to suggest we struggle to win or score without him is absurd to me, just like the Bruno statement people previously kept pushing!
  8. Is this gunna be the 25/26 season version of "we can't win without Bruno"?
  9. We are talking specifically about CL games though since of course if he's sold he'll be replaced.
  10. If we lose one midfielder, lets say Miley comes in. If we lose two midfielders, Willock or Willock's replacement comes in. If we lose all three of our midfield we will go to a back 5. So for Longstaff to have any reasonable chance of mattering we need to lose 4 of our midfielders, and even then Hall could play there, but we shouldn't sell him when it's pure profit in this PSR world we live in? If we have four midfielders out good luck us beating anyone in Champions Leavue anyway, really don't think it's much of a factor when it comes to selling him or not.
  11. Sadly it can't ever be experienced again mate, that feeling of winning our first trophy after such a long wait can never be repeated, once in a lifetime moment!
  12. Brentford's a nice shout @CallumG6surprised they're so short, assume it's following the logic you mentioned. I want to oppose Forest next season but thought they'd be a bigger price for relegation. Mackems 4/1 to be the best of the newcomers is interesting.
  13. This is the dream for me as well, would love to see us play in the Bernabeu.
  14. I was in the home end at Dortmund, it was my first time doing it, and it was surreal! I was expecting to have to keep silent the whole game, then I get in the ground and there's 10+ people with black and white tops lol. Half-time in the concourse was wild, about 20 Newcastle fans going nuts singing Toon songs for the whole of half-time, completely took over the place, obviously joined them Their fans where just laughing at us. Sidestory, I goes to the toilet, guy on my left is a Toon fan, guy on my right went to my school, wtf! 2nd half there was Newcastle songs started on the terraces from a few in front and behind us, mental experience. Likely the score played a big part in them giving us a pass, and as said plenty grounds it's going to be a different story. I'll always have a soft spot for Dortmund and their fans after that.
  15. My post choosing Dibling over Mbeumo would be with the added caveat that Howe has chosen to go that route, that would be enough to excite me to his potential.
  16. FYI Barnes in Premier League this season 9 goals, 5 assists from 1,754 minutes so 125 minutes per g/a Mbeumo excluding pens got 15 goals and 9 assist from 3,417 minutes so 142 minutes per g/a I didn't know that data before looking but I'd put Mbeumo on a similar level to Barnes, I rate Barnes, and think Mbeumo would be a good signing, but think some may have unrealistic expectations of what Mbeumo would bring based on one great season (numbers wise).
  17. Mbeumo is very good but feel like we pretty much know his ceiling, plus he's basically just had the perfect season so we are going to have to overpay to get him. Dibling on the other hand could be anything, and under Howe he'll very likely reach close to his top potential, happy with either but I'd go Dibling if the price is not too unreasonable.
  18. Note to self - stopping opening this fucking thread jesus!!!
  19. The catastrophizing by some after every minor blip is pretty absurd! Why would Mitchell leaving be that big of a deal? He's not been here very long, had little to no impact whilst here, and given the fact he's now left it's a reasonable assumption that him and Howe weren't on the same page, and there should only be one winner there, therefore it seems good news this is done now and we move on. Eddie will be the main man in charge of dealings this summer, his record of signings to date for us has been fantastic, we are in fantastic hands, we move on!
  20. Closest thing to free money on them getting relegated.
  21. Anyone who's genuinely flapping about this game just isn't up to speed with who we are now! Something freakish will have to happen on Sunday for us not to win, we are too good to let this slip. Most likely outcome is its done and dusted after 20-30 minutes and we are out of sight, enjoy.
  22. Yeah a know mate, just think we genuinely shouldn't give a shit
  23. I couldn't give less of a shit haha, just focused on what we are doing and where we are headed. We have all the foundations in place for kicking on now and having continued success. I think only three clubs are better placed than us right now in Arsenal, City and Liverpool, given where we were not long ago that's amazing.
