nah, medical done, refusing to play
-
He's picked up under moyes. ok. He's less dreadful Still dreadful, just different shades

After Ramsey, I feel we still need one more. Our physical presence in midfield drops off significantly when Big Joe ain't around. Obviously he is quite unique so would be keen on someone in the Gallacher mould who can also play a bit

Did this guy change his mind? Taking a some time for an announcement.
-
Give Eddie a wee break, he also has the team to sort out for the weekend, and just finished returning the crockery rented for the family get-together.

Depends on the conditions attached to the release clause which you may want to know upfront. For example it could be a case of the buyer having to pay everything upfront, or specific payment terms, or sell on clause, or structure of add-ons. However as you mention and we learned the hard way, might be useful to check whether the player prefers London or Leeds in this case

We need max 6 midfielders, minimum 5. If you exclude Willock who has consistent injury issues, we actually need 2 more alongside Bruno, Tonali, Miley and Big Joe. I also don't see it purely through the lens of a starting 3 and who is the backup. All 6 need to be ready to be deployed in varying combinations based on how Eddie sees the team setting up on the day.

and Malick wondering why everyone in Newcastle is named Eddie
-
Is he in the building yet? I suspect Eddie does the medicals as well. Eddie does everything these days

Nobody is interested at the price they quoting, which says everything.
-
and it would irk me that we helped Chelsea financially. Fuck them and the 9yr contract they put him on
-
wouldn't mind 2 midfielders, a first teamer and youngster that is good enough to play 15 or so games. Paqueta will bring a different dimension to the midfield but WH are not easy sellers and we dont have the time or the know-how to get him out of there at a reasonable price. Very happy that we focusing on the midfield now, it's been worrying me for quite a while, even when Willock was fit. He looks miles off it.

I think if we got Ekitike or later Sesko and received a bid close to 150m, the door wouuld have been opened. With no viable replacement at a similar level of quality, the door is closed regardless of how close to 150m it may end up being. Only other option I forsee is if they go way over 150m as our board might think we never getting this kind of money again, but Liverpool have not shown any indication that they willing to go above and beyond.

bloody hell, we missing some serious tricks here. should be shopping for a PSR / FSR guru
-
geez dude. came in here expecting the worst

wonder what, if any, impact Suds is having on deciding on our current targets? He surely brought his database with him?
-
Free...but crucially has to be cheap and full medical clearance and I might be onboard as a stop gap measure. Too many "ifs" though

agree with your point around those two being more useful than Willock Not sure about Hall as CM, worry about his ability to play on the half turn, he got hammered in a tackle against Espanyol because his body position was that of a defender. We also spent nearly 18 months turning him into a very very good defender so he may have lost the midfield nuances in his game.

Either way, a youngster or an experience operator we need reinforcements in midfield. we run our first 3 into the ground each season. Bar Miley, the drop off to the remainder is unacceptable. I can see the no risk approach to McGinn and wouldn't be against it at the right price however we kicking the can down the road. Rudoni and/or Hackney and we have Miley and we start building the next generation of our midfield. Future proof ourselves against a cartel raid for our star midfielders?

would be unbelievable if a discussion about him does not take place as a matter of priority. Agree the deal Saturday night EH does the medical on Sunday (because he does everything) Unveiling on Monday. Will restore my faith in our transfer team immeasurably
