You can get a train to the highlands, even as far as Skye (Mallaig then ferry) via Glasgow if you want to have Edinburgh as your base. Its a beautiful journey through Glencoe and crosses Glenfinnan viaduct (Harry Potter).

Seconded. Have family from the Isle of Skye. It's stunning - drive through Glencoe and take the ferry from Mallaig to Armadale.

Caged in at the ground for ages if I remember correctly. We stayed down at the port. Great atmosphere in the afternoon pre-match at the port, bother later on after the match although I think it may have been Marseilles fans and police.

Went to EF when we played them years ago. Flew with Ryanair to Frankfurt Hahn airport obviously thinking it was in Frankfurt. Transpires it’s 50 miles away - had to hire a fucking car to get there. Fucking Ryanair
