The other clubs you are referring to do everything, they have a history of winning trophies and regular qualification for the Champions League. West Ham is another good example, what do you think winning the Europa Conference did for their global brand?
-
A one off carabao cup win isn’t going to make much difference to a global brand, see the likes of Swansea and Birmingham for that. Champions League qualification brings in big money, allowing the club to spend more on transfer and attracting better players. It is still on the club to build on that but it is the springboard to better things and popularity globally. Spurs are a great example of that.

Agree with this, we are not going to close the financial gap and attract the best players by winning the Carabao cup. Not that it should be one or the other. However, you seen with Ten Hag’s Man Utd last season that winning a cup can be a good distraction from failing in the league, but once the celebrations are over it ultimately catches up with you.

No reason why we shouldn’t go on a run of 5 league wins in a row, all against bottom half teams and the away games are West Ham and Leicester. We need the points on the board with some difficult away days at the end the of the season.
-
It was surprising at how little energy West Ham have in midfield, not only are they easy to dominate but they can’t get up to support Bowen or Kudus.
-
Difficult to pick a stand out player with that performance. Probably Bruno as the goalscorer.
-
The points that matter at this stage.
-
Slapstick defending.
-
Oliver Scarles looks quality for someone just breaking in to the first team.
-
Nice finish.
-
That was a quality save.
-
We need to make our possession count before West Ham get a grip on the midfield.
-
Harder to miss than score.

Probably a C, his potential was undeniable and he didn’t look out of place in Chelsea’s back line, although he was suspect at times defensively due to age and being new to the position, he would still have started on a regular basis for a fair few Premier League clubs. The whole Hall was left out so that is the way to do it argument is nonsense, do people genuinely think Hall wouldn’t have made it if he was playing on a regular basis, either here or somewhere else? Osula doesn’t have the pedigree of Hall and while he does have some raw physical attributes, I’m not sure he has the footballing IQ to go with it.
-
Osula is an E.

West Ham are 16th in the league and are 16th in the home fixtures league this season, even if you look at their last 3 home games they have beaten Southampton, but lost to Palace and Brentford. Any team pushing for Champions League would see this fixture as three points.

No reason why we shouldn’t win the next 5 league games in a row, all against bottom half opposition and the 2 away games are against teams who are poor at home this season.
-
European football means a higher revenue meaning we have more flexibility with what we can spend.
-
Absolutely we should have been speaking with other managers, if we can attract better we should and we also should be speaking with other managers if we don’t qualify for Europe this season either. No European football is the reason we can’t spend this season.

The one hope I have with it is when Man Utd went to Anfield at the turn of the year and everyone thought they were lambs to the slaughter, but Liverpool couldn’t get going, it was like the pressure of people expecting a big performance got to them and it finished 2-2. We are the outsiders for this and rightly so, but it isn’t impossible.
-
What I have said is that while we can use PSR as a reason for not being able to compete with Liverpool, Arsenal and Man City, we cannot use it as a reason for not being able to compete with Forest, Bournemouth empty and Brighton. We have every financial advantage over them in terms of financial income, wages and amount spent on transfers, so if we do fail to qualify for the Champions League and one of those teams get the place ahead of us, then it is a failing on our part that we haven’t taken advantage of Man Utd and Spurs imploding.
-
You are indeed mistaken.

This is Forests Championship squad. https://www.espn.co.uk/football/team/squad/_/id/393/league/ENG.2/season/2021
-
Lower than Forest and Bournemouth who were Championship clubs? Worth remembering that Bournemouth started with the player Howe got them relegated with.
