Apparently they wanted Ashworth and Mitchell but the latter turned down the role, which was more recruitment focused.
-
Unless one of them leaves I can’t see it.
-
No, unless it is someone like Gibbs-White that is bought to play RW but can cover in the middle.
-
He isn’t as one footed as Miggy but he does overly favour his right foot. The difference between the two is that Almiron will work to get the ball back on to his left at the detriment of play, whereas Gibbs-White won’t, instead using the outside of his right foot if he couldn’t pick the pass with his left.

I think there has been healthy debate recently about the type of right winger we do need, with some fans saying we need more of a technical wide man that can pick a pass against the low block and others preferring a similar profile to what Gordon brings down the left. Gibbs-White is a hybrid of both, he is proficient in the technical side but has the work rate and drive to run at players when needed. We have also seen that the better technical wide players are comfortable coming in to the middle and playing in the 10 role, so I don’t see it as a stretch to think that MGB would be as comfortable on the right as he is through the middle. If anything, I could see him and Tonali swapping positions during the game like Joeinton and Willock did.

I am not sure if the first two were on the list, more that we were desperate to sell and PSR slowly killing the market in terms of available money to spend for most clubs, so we were looking at being creative to help facilitate sales. It will be interesting to see if we go back in for either of the above with a straight cash offer now we are in a new financial period.

We appear to have a scattergun approach to buying a new CB, with Kilman and Quansah being chased in part ex deals. I think we went all in expecting to get Tosin and are now having to start the whole CB search again.

I like how you have no real idea about football, so talk about other random things instead. Such an endearing quality.
-
That’s a joke by the way. Don't vote for those cunts.
-
Vote Reform, they will sort the BBC out.
-
If we have paid over the odds then it will be a transfer like that which forces a rule change.
-
Let’s not turn the Anthony Gordon thread in to a Jimmy Saville one.
-
The Athletic and the BBC, one that is usually spot on with information from inside the club and another that only posts information that has been verified have said that we put forward a deal for Gordon that involved Quansah. That isn’t believing the worst, it is believing outlets you trust. Understandable that people don’t want to believe it though.
-
Obviously must be lying. In fact, we probably didn’t even have FFP problems at all. No proof.😂
-
Someone from Liverpool would know that we offered Gordon to them. Yes, that is how it works.
-
Presuming that MGW isn’t really a RW, although is capable of covering there.
-
Again, you will happily ignore a verified source of information because you don’t want to believe it to be true.
-
I am saying that a varied party has told the BBC, that there is no reason to disbelieve. There isn’t anything to say that it isn’t true, other than people not wanting to believe it is, despite the club facing a hefty points deduction if we didn’t sell.
-
What are you going by to say it isn’t correct?
-
The privately owned media I would say yes, the publicly owned media no. As I said, they are not interested in click bait material or the latest transfer scoop. If anything their football coverage on the website is bland as they don’t write an article on anything without having it verified. They would likely have been told this by Liverpool, which the BBC believe is enough to make it factual and have given us the right to respond, which we don’t appear to have done.
-
The Athletic article doesn’t put the club in the best of light behind the scenes, the last week must have been difficult but hopefully it makes us more open to selling players at the right time going forward.
-
The BBC are again repeating the story of us offering Gordon to Liverpool with Quansah coming the other way, that Liverpool rejected. There is no reason to believe they are lying about it, they are not click bait journalists on Twitter but a publicly owned media outlet. They have even reached out to us for comment.

Oscar Bobb if we can get him. It might be possible if City are getting Savio.
