  1. The problem with that is that we go in to next summer with £0 towards a new striker, where as if he goes now then potentially we £15m+ towards one. Unless the plan is to plan is to pick up DCL on a free, but if his demands were too much this season then they are likely to go up when out of contract.
  2. You could make the case that every player is sold for PSR concerns unless you are a club that makes regular profits every window but the sale of Anderson was a no brainer.
  3. The only way we could avoid the issues of PSR is by selling players and he was actively working for us through the January window.
  4. I read it at the time and know he helped upgrade the training ground from the days of a plunge pool being a garden waste bin. I am not talking down his abilities, I just don’t think he has left any sort of legacy in his time here for things he has drastically improved.
  5. Glad a line is being drawn under this, anything more than what we paid Brighton is a bonus. I am still not sure what he actually did in his time here.
  6. Lee Dixon talking like it has been a masterclass by Southgate.
  7. Ivan Toney coming on with 3 minutes of injury time left.😂
  8. Southgate.😂 Shame he didn’t go to Man Utd.
  9. If we did then this would cause the rule change to come in. It is difficult to value youngsters with potential but signing a 30 year old 3rd choice keeper for big money would set the alarm bells off.
  10. Forest paid £7.7 million for him. https://www.nottinghampost.com/sport/football/transfer-news/odysseas-vlachodimos-fresh-nottingham-forest-9098131.amp
  11. Even if we signed Mamardashvili?
  12. Depends if we plan on selling Pope.
  13. He wanted to leave Forest this summer as he had dropped down to third choice, so if he does come in then he will replace Dubs as number 2 is my guess. Meaning Pope stays as our #1 or is off.
  14. I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t sign a new CM, Harrison or White will fill his place.
  15. I can see Murphy being the back up right back.
  16. Was he? I think Murillo or Gibbs White for around the £70 mark if the price of Anderson is true then.
  17. We needed to make a £2 million profit to be PSR compliant over the 3 year period, so we have either made a profit or face a points deduction. We were predicted to make a loss of £64 million without player sales, which didn’t take in to account the sale of ASM, which is why the figure of us needing £40 million in sales before the deadline was banded about.
  18. You would be looking at Murillo, MGW or Elanga. Probably on an inflated fee to make up for the inflated fee for Anderson, if true. By spreading out both transfers it becomes difficult to for league to argue about.
  19. We have had a phase where we have bought a lot of players but made little from sales, due to building up the squad depth that we need. Now it is about upgrading those players and selling those coming towards the end of their careers or those who are not good enough for a Top Six squad, which is where we want to be consistently. Presuming we have triggered the deal to sign Lewis Hall, I can see another 4 players coming in this summer with the same amount going in sales to help subsidise those signings. We will turn a profit for PSR for last year now, if we can get somewhere close again this year then it should free up a lot of wiggle room for the following year.

    Anthony Gordon

The BBC have put an article out about it who due to being publicly owned, they need to have verification before they can put something out as fact. They even say at the bottom of the article that they have reached out to us for comment, so this information would likely have come from someone at Liverpool speaking on the record. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c720wjxzz9ro
  21. There is an article about it on the BBC, who only post football news that they have been told that is correct, so would have got this information from Liverpool. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c720wjxzz9ro
  22. We were offering Gordon to Liverpool earlier today such was how desperate the position was, so while I wouldn’t say we fucked up I think there will be some lessons learned hopefully from the experience. I am all for the club taking risks by the way but they need an exit strategy for when it doesn’t come off, otherwise we might not be so lucky. We needed to make a £2 million profit this year to hit the 3 year PSR figure, which I am guessing we have done with the sales agreed today, so that buys us some space this summer and the next few years. I can still see us selling Wilson, Almiron and Trippier this window to add some more leeway. It would make sense to have an eye on potential sales the following year (Longstaff and Murphy maybe) to give us wiggle room for PSR going forward.
