Quite possibly, there are parts of his game that he is better than Gordon at and I like how tenacious he is when running with the ball, he tries to stay on his feet as much as possible.
-
Madueke has all of the attributes to be at Gordon’s level.
-
We don’t need £40 million this window to but £40 million worth of players this window.
-
You look at the players in the last year of their contracts that have no long term future at the club for starters.
-
BBC now saying he only has 2 years left on his contract. Why would we sign a young player for that much money and give them a 3.5 year contract.
-
you say no but then go on to say the opposite.
-
Would be a good signing for Villa. They can push Duran the other way then.
-
Is this the part where I name people and then you say nobody wants to buy them?
-
You don’t have to sell £35 million of players in one window to sign a £35 million player.
-
We can, we just need to start selling players if we expect to spend £100 million a season.
-
Gallagher is like Longstaff but an upgrade in every single area of his game, surprise we don’t go for him.
-
We can have a better season than last season in spite of this transfer window, not because of it.
-
Having no European football or having players back from injury has nothing to do with how good this transfer window has been. They are not the same thing.
-
I don’t think people care about making signings like Brighton or Monaco this window, they just want a centre back and right winger that will improve the first team
-
I can’t believe how pessimistic people are being! People clearly don’t remember what it was like under Ashley etc. Lewis Hall - Yes he was here last season but we have signed him permanently, so he is like a new signing! Lloyd Kelly - Adds strength and depth after losing Dummett, giving us a third left centre back. John Ruddy - England international goalkeeper. Odysseas Vlachodimos - Greek international and Champions League player, we managed to get rid of Elliott in the process of signing this lad so win-win. Yankuba Minteh - Never bought to play and only bought to be flipped, which we did and made a lot of money! Kerching! Alexander Isak and Bruno - They haven’t been sold, so they are like new signings! Anthony Gordon - We managed to fight Liverpool off after offering him to them originally, so he is also like a new signing! Sandro Tonali - Back from a year on his holidays, he is like a new signing! Plus, the following players are all a year older so more experienced… • The entire squad. We have massively improved! What happened to only wanted a team that tries? Deluded some people.

I think Branthwaite’s ability on the ball is on par with Dan Burn and not suited to a top level side that wants to play any sort of possession based football, which is why Southgate likely took Dunk over him. He also panics when pressed by attackers so he will need to improve that considerably to play at the top level. Everton’s style of football really suits him, a low block, ultra defensive and disciplined structure where they don’t actually want possession of the ball, instead happy for the opposition to have it and to try and break them down. Why pass it around the back when you can boot it aimlessly long? Guehi is more of a modern centre back, he is comfortable in possession and has a good reading of the game without the ball, it is what you would expect from a young player coming through Chelsea’s academy.

I like that the interviews are nearly 5 years apart and he still likes watching tv when he isn’t playing football.
-
Watching Palace defend that corner is quite bizarre, do they usually zonal mark at dead balls? As it looked like they didn’t know what they were doing and were new to defending like that. Guehi is the only one who has no momentum going in to his jump, so gets sandwiched between Richards and the Nantes goalscorer. I know friendly games are a chance to practice these things in a real game but that is an attacking teams dream.
-
I think it was because Almiron was injured and Murphy was playing right back, when players came back from injury Barnes was back on the bench for Murphy, who started nearly all of the games in the second half of the season.
-
Good shout that, although wages might be a stumbling block.
-
Madueke has a ceiling as high as Gordon, if not higher. He would be an excellent signing.
-
Guehi and Madueke coming in and none of our better players leaving would be a really progressive transfer window.
-
Slight difference in size of club to us compared to Bournemouth to be fair, along with the expectations that go along with that. Did you really think they were going to sell Solanke and upgrade on him?
-
Do we have a sell on clause?
-
What a great finish. He looked onside.
