  1. Their defenders and goalkeeper do not look comfortable having the ball at their feet which is why he was looking to turn and play it forward.
  2. Good start for Leicester, hopefully they can find the breakthrough early.
  3. I think that could potentially happen and the switch will go to a 4-2-3-1 position which is what a lot of the other top teams play, meaning that someone like Madison would end up playing in front of 2 solid ball playing midfielders.
  4. Would Maddison play in Longstaff’s position or Miggys?
  5. I posted this is a different thread a few days ago but it’s an interesting watch, it shows how Brightons tactic is to sit back and pass it around to encourage the opposition to close them down so they can find space to attack. Everton didn’t press and instead waited for Brighton to come out and then broke with pace.
  6. Newcastle Premier League games this season: ✅ Won 2-0 ? Drew 0-0 ? Drew 3-3 ? Drew 1-1 ❌ Lost 2-1 ? Drew 0-0 ? Drew 1-1 ✅ Won 1-4 ✅ Won 5-1 ? Drew 0-0 ✅ Won 1-0 ✅ Won 1-2 ✅ Won 4-0 ✅Won 1-4 ✅ Won 1-0 ✅ Won 0-3 ? Drew 0-0 ? Drew 0-0 ✅ Won 1-0 ? Drew 0-0 ? Drew 1-1 ? Drew 1-1 ❌ Lost 0-2 ❌ Lost 2-0 ✅ Won 2-1 ✅ Won 1-2 ✅ Won 2-0 ✅ Won 1-5 ✅ Won 1-2 ❌ Lost 3-0 ✅ Won 6-1 ✅ Won 1-4 ✅ Won 3-1 ❌ Lost 0-2 ? Drew 2-2 ❔ ❔ ❔
  7. I think the World Cup did him a huge favour as it gave him the equivalent of a pre season but he’s done a great job with Villa. I also think he inherited a good squad of players that were massively underperforming under/because of Gerrard.
  8. A fantastic achievement and a credit to Howe and the players for getting us here. The best part is that we deserve to be there on our performances and hopefully new signings in the summer will see us cement our place as a team that broke the sky six monopoly for the foreseeable.
  9. I would sign both Lavia and Alcaraz from Southampton now they are relegated.
  10. The team I’m looking at to do is a favour is Villa. If they win against Spurs today they will be looking at top 6 as achievable and are going to make life difficult for Liverpool at Anfield.
  11. I thought Almiron has been decent with the link up and overlap play, Leeds are packing he players down that side to try and deny is space but we are still getting the better of them down there.
  12. If Isak and Wilson are playing together I would have Isak playing off Wilson in a 4-2-3-1
  13. My only concern is the midfield trio of Bruno, Willock and Joelinton looks completely unbalanced, I would prefer to have a look at Gordon in Longstaff’s role for his energy and pressing and then put Joelinton wide left. it’s not ideal but we are limited in what we can do.
  14. If we win Tindall should do the post match interview.
  15. Sam Allardyce says the fear of relegation should motive his Leeds United side to fight, as they prepare to host Newcastle United on Saturday. With three matches remaining, Leeds sit 19th in the Premier League table, two points from safety. "The fear needs to drive them on," said Leeds manager Allardyce. "The fear of relegation and the fear of losing Premier League status should make them fight and want to fight for their Premier League status." Leeds' final two matches see them travel to face West Ham next week before hosting Tottenham Hotspur on the final day of the season and Allardyce admitted he would be pleased just to have a chance of staying up on the final day. "We have nine points to go for [and] I would be very satisfied if we were still in it when we take on Tottenham," he said. Eddie Howe's Magpies are the visitors to Elland Road for Allardyce's first home game since taking charge last week. Newcastle are third in the table and pushing for Champions League qualification, something Allardyce had ambitions of overseeing during his time in charge of the club. "Was I disappointed? Yes," he said, referring to being dismissed at Newcastle in 2008. "[It was a] massive knockback but I always recover and move on. "It was a blow to my career at that point in time and I wanted to take [the club] to where it is now. That was the ambition of me and [previous owner] Freddie Shepherd at the time." Good omens for Leeds and Allardyce Since Allardyce's departure from Newcastle, he has managed five different sides against the Magpies. His 13 wins against the North East side are more than against any other club in his managerial career and in his last five fixtures against the Magpies - with three different clubs - he has won three times and drawn twice. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65557848
  16. Broke the record for the fastest sending off in Ligue one.
  17. FourFourTwo have made a video about the tactics used by Everton in beating Brighton which is a good watch.
  18. Maddison, Barnes and Gallagher would all improve our starting eleven but it also means you are looking at around £150 million for all of them, without even looking at a left back, centre back and cover for Bruno.
  19. In the last 2 seasons ASM has 6 goals and 10 assists in 64 games. Barnes in the last 2 season has 23 goals and 17 assists in 85 games.
  20. Lavia is wasted in this Southampton side.
  21. That was a quality goal from Forest.
  22. I can see if any decent offer for ASM, Almiron or Wilson comes in then the club will be open to accepting.
  23. If Rice does go to Arsenal I think it would give us a decent shot at signing Moises Caicedo.
  24. I’ve just googled Antonee Robinson and he’s been linked with Man City at various points since January so maybe not.
