  1. Dude, your argument's full of holes! So many ifs, buts, and what-ifs. Without Miniteh, we could've sold Longstaff, easy peasy, pure profit like with Anderson. So you can't really prove that. Just like I can't prove mine. The fact is Minteh was sold. Plus, our revenue's 7th highest in the league. Financially, we're way closer to Bournemouth (dead last) than Arsenal (6th). That's why our goal isn't and shouldn't be Champions League. Darren Eales said in Germany (pre-season) our goal is Europe – Conference or Europa. Makes sense if you look at our finances and league position. I'm sure we can agree on that. Everton's been battling relegation for four years straight, mate. Like you said about Leicester, it's a rubbish, illogical example. Spurs rake in double our revenue, but our ambition's triple theirs, so we know every pound will go towards our goals. We don't need to match Spurs or Man U financially to consistently beat them. There's gotta be a break-even point where we can spend £60-80 million a season on transfers without going bust. We don't need £500 million revenue to do that, surely?
  2. Since the takeover, we've been comfortably in the top 8. Really comfortably. Saying we're a few bad moves away from a Leicester-style relegation is totally wrong. It'd take a crazy amount of bad moves to get relegated like Leicester did, and even Man U's transfer business isn't bad enough for that to happen to us.
  3. Perhaps, but the club's much publicised pursuit of Guehi suggests they had a plan to compensate for the acquisition, possibly through player sales as you say or other means, or maybe we have a bit of PSR wiggle room. Its all speculation and a matter of opinion. A matter of fact though is the club were willing to spend money for Guehi.
  4. Perhaps. Even if the figure was 55 million, our transfer activity would still have been substantial, and it was reported that we met Olise's release clause. which was also around 50 million or so. Point still stands. We are capable of spending large amounts for what the club consider the right player.
  5. Palace agree to 70 million for their super star defender and we in excess of 100 million spend in the summer, or even the 60 million for their true superstar in Olise. I think money is there to spend on the right player.

    Alexander Isak

80 million for Isak is a joke, it's insulting. He's contracted to the club till June 2028, and he's worth way more than that. It's mind-boggling how you think it's not. It's astonishing, really. I disagree with all the bolded parts. Everyone is entitled to an opinion I guess, but 80 million for Isak not insulting? Wow. Just wow.

Moisés Caicedo went for 115 million.

Give him 200 a week and a 2 year extension. That ties him down till 2030 when he is 30/31. We should not entertain selling him for any fee. Build the team around him, Gordon, livra, hall and botman.
  9. I'd be shocked if he makes it through this international break..
  10. Brighton making it rather easy for Chelsea.
  11. Brighton better quite the highline, it's suicidal.
  12. What's going on in the Chelsea game. ??
  13. "5 to 10 years" was the direct quote from Amanda.
  14. I think you are missing my point there my good sir.
  15. 16 my good man. Madrid paid above the reported release clause.
  16. Yeah, I get what you mean. Last season in the EPL, Murphy had 7 assists and 3 goals in 21 games. That means he was involved in a goal every 2 games. So, I don't think the stats support your argument. I agree that he could be upgraded, but saying Miniteh is ahead of him is a bit of a stretch. Even if we didn't sell Miniteh, I'd still want the club to buy a starting right winger.
  17. He's good, but he's still raw. And the real deal? Nah, not yet for me. The board was smart to use his stats to get a good transfer fee, but he's not worth 35 million at his current level. Arda Güler went for 30 million euros , and he's far a better player. The 40 million from Lyon puts him in the same category as Vinicius Junior, but he's nowhere near that level. I'm still not sure about him. But I hope he does well.
  18. Kaka give the guy at least 10 games before we start saying stuff like that. He's got potential, but he's still super raw.
  19. Ridiculous highline that, I don't understand why teams play like this.

Yeah, I agree, especially if we get into Europe.

These professionals, who have led us from 20th to 4th in a season and a half and a cup final, have also brought in players like Isak, Gordon, Bruno, and others. They have significantly improved our financial situation, and the club is now worth over a billion. I don't think the naysayers/minteh fan boys win that argument really. What these guys have done since they have come in, is quite astonishing really. Selling Minteh does not change my view of those running the club. They have established a high level of trust and credibility with me.
