Can't read the article, but.. Some friend told me that they think it's partly a delayed effect of last season. Our players did go through a real strain last season to be fair, with minimal roation and intense gameplay throughout. It was necessary to get us to the top 4 for sure, but delayed effect can be real. I remember an article about the injuries in the Premier League in relation to the mid season World Cup and the following fixture congestion, like a hangover that happened this season. I'm sure the added minutes to each game also plays a huge role. And I'm talking about PL injuries in general, ours is obviously highly abnormal regardless, also relative to the rest of the teams this season. But the point is that delayed effects can be real.

A bit random this, but this one aged well. If only this post was true.

31-1 shots, 72% vs 28% possession

I have a feeling that it will be another slow window in terms of moving our existing squad players on, but I hope I'm wrong. Would like to see several sales of our older players, with some replacements. Easier said than done though.

Just imagine reading this post 3-4 years ago, knowing it's written in 2024. A scared striker becoming an aggressive midfielder.

Apparently Cantona is doing concerts now.. Yeah.. The quality is as expected.

Yet another coincidence I suppose.

I guess Dubravka has an ACL rupture aswell now..

I remember Jorginho scoring 7 goals in a season for Chelsea, and they were all pens.

Hmm why? I didn't watch this one. I just noticed that Hall recieved 3 bonus points on FPL, and thought he must've done some good things here, but I know it's not allways accurate.

I will save it for next season, you will see.

It really feels like these injury problems will continue next season.. And it has nothing to do with a curse or having the stadium built on a graveyard.

This is counting the win against Manchester United at 2nd of december where Pope played 85 min. Sneaky. In my post I said "mid december" (but I meant from the Everton game and onwards). We did well in the first few games with lots of injuries at the end of november and start of december. After that, it's been bad. Understandably so, but you can't convince people that we've somehow done really well despite inuries. We just haven't, I think we've actually underperformed a little since that Man United game with the players that we've had available. Here is the real table after Pope injury. "Only 6 points" above relegation, and 9 points behind 6th. "Only 3-4 points" behind us there is Palace, Everton, Luton and Forest.

A grand total of 3 injuries between these 2 teams, who are both still in the Champions League. Man City still in the FA cup aswell.
-
That's because we took so many points until mid december. After that we've had a form that equates to around 15th place if not worse.

Watching West Ham without Kudus and Paqueta was absolutely dreadful. West Ham vs Brighton was the most boring game I've watched in a long time. Bowen looks clueless without them, which is very understandable. When they lose two of them to injury or something else they are in big trouble.

There was this suggestion about a total of 60 min effective playing time where the clock stops whenever the ball is not in play. I don't see why not? It would still increase from the around 55 min average of last season (I believe it was around that), while also being fair for all, and also not put too much strain on the players. No point in time wasting in that system. The current system of trying to achieve 80-90 min of ball in play is a little bit too much for the players. Games might finish some minutes earlier than last season if that matters (time started vs time finished), but you still get 60 min of action. The time that you lose is ball out of play anyways.

What a day.. I thought we were going to be 12th when we were 3-1 down. Then we came back, Chelsea embarrased themselves, Fulham dropped points to Sheffield Utd, Wolves lost, West Ham lost to us and Man Utd didn't manage to beat Brentford. Instead of being 12th we are 8th, 5 pts away from 6th, and 1 point behind 7th with a game in hand. Brighton will probably lose tomorrow aswell.
-
Sure, but we are facing teams with worse players than what we have available, in nearly every fixture left.
-
Now I gotta consider him aswell for my fantasy team. Too many solid alternatives right now.
-
Yeah, I was ready to completely give up.. Looked grim once again. A game like this can give such a boost to the players going forward, hoping we can build on it.
-
This could be a turning point. Instead of dropping to 12th, we're closing in on 7th.
-
Gotta admit, I did not expect this. Lets go all the way..

The backline that cabbage head was getting 12th and 13th with was even worse. Like, in about 95% of our games we've fielded a stronger side than what we had under cabbage head. Obviously Howe is just a way better manager, but the players that he has had available are not that terrible. Compare it to Fulham, who will go above us.
