  1. According to Bruce he was the one who told the owners to go for Eddie. We should call Bruce to get some more advice.
  2. They said that our bid was way lower than the £60m reported. On top of that the reports say that we were going to sell in jan or june again to make up for it.
  3. https://www.givemesport.com/manchester-united-fans-stick-serie-a-best-player-scott-mctominay/ Antonio Cassano calls him the best player in Italy right now, actually. May not be the best, but it seems like people who follow Serie A are very very impressed and they wonder why other clubs in England didn't want him for that price.
  4. The grim part is that we're not getting out of that anytime soon, it will still be maxed out in the windows after that unless we start selling. And sticking with the same team every season obviously doesn't work, especially when our squad is this old. Our players of value are mostly just the purples, hence why selling a purple seems more and more like something that just has to be done if we want to evolve..
  5. His form sky rocketed right after leaving his wife and kids to find out what he had been "missing out" on.
  6. The way he handled the whole saga when Man Utd came in for him should've been a massive red flag to them.. Their fans didn't seem to care about it at the time.
  7. Going by that logic you can never sack Eddie unless you're fighting relegation.. I'd give him a little more time, and if that fucks up our season, so be it. But I don't think that he's irreplaceable.
  8. It's a risk either way. Nomatter when you sack a manager, and nomatter who's available. Sometimes the big names fail, sometimes the unknowns are successful. It would be a test of whoever is in charge of the appointment more than anything imo.
  9. Wonder if he's experiencing burnout.. It happened at Bournemouth. Wouldn't be surprised if we lost to Leicester with their new manager bounce, that might be the end tbh.
  10. Keeping Hall and selling Isak 2 rounds ago not looking great..
  11. Yeah, he gave him just what he wanted.
  12. What did the reporter say? And what did Guardiola say? As a norwegian it was difficult to understand that dialect. "Right mate, just 'cause you lost"? And then he replies with what?

    Marc Guehi

I was all for not jumping to conclusions, but the interview from his dad and himself doesn't really help his case. They are being really vague and saying things that doesn't really change anything, and I think that's for a reason. His dad comments are especially telling. It really does seem like his dad or family is the issue though, and I suppose that's no surprise. Guehi was put in a really bad and awkward position, and I also think the PL is partly to blame for that. Guehi isn't completely free of blame ofcourse, but he really had no way out of trouble.

    Kieran Trippier

He can be a coach to show them how to not do them.

They were actually pretty poor in certain periods, it was a bit up and down as far as I can remember.

Maybe he can be our set piece coach for now
  17. Okay. I meant discussion. Just wasn't sure what squads you think that people are overlooking the quality of. Guess I should've just asked. I don't think anyone here are overlooking the squads of the top sides.
  18. Hmm. What was the argument about, then? Sorry, maybe I didn't read back far enough. I doubt someone would claim that our squad is on par with the "big six"? Personally I've seen people blaming it on the squad when we're struggling against lower sides, or talking about how competitive the league is, and how every team is good. In that case all you need to do is to compare our squad to the lower opponents we've been struggling against. Before last game someone made the argument that we don't have any players who can hurt the opponent at all. We have a £100m+ striker who just bullied VVD.
  19. Lets look Palace for instance. A squad expected to be around mid table I'm no expert on Palace, admittedly. And yes, the have a couple of good ones. But isn't this a real gap in quality overall? And I don't believe in things like Bruno and Gordon not actually being good players, because that stuff is just short term memory like we had with Isak recently.
  20. But what other squads are we talking? I mean we were getting mid table finishes with Bruce and the squad he had. Imo mid table teams are miles away from our squad, so a mid table outcome like 10th would be pretty bad. The problem is just the gap between the heavy hitters and the rest. Can't compare ourselves with them, obviously.
  21. You can make a case for atleast 10 teams being title challengers through what ifs if you frame their games like this.
  22. Yeah, I'll keep him, no doubt. Just a feeling I have that he won't return much despite the fixtures, but maybe this will look foolish.
  23. No doubt Howe has transformed some players, but likewise I think Steve Bruce made some players look worse than what their real level was. Schär, Longstaff and even Almiron looked pretty good under Benitez. We just had the idea of them being Championship level due to them being Bruced.
  24. Wolves are horrible, I'm already not so happy with owning Cunha anymore. Will give him some more time, but I'm not expecting too much atm. I think many were late to the party with him, luckily I wasn't. Brilliant player, but Wolves doesn't look that great. This might be a bit reactionary from my part, though..
