  1. I saw a graph this summer where they were at the top of the league in terms of PSR headroom. They can easily spend something like £250-300m now, and still not break the rules. They don't want to however, for the sake of the clubs economy. PSR is all positives for them.
  2. PSR is limiting some of their rivals and the teams below them. Not them. They effevtively have no limit within what the club is actually capable of spending anyways.
  3. Thiaw 1,94m Burn 1,98m Wolte 1,99m Botman 1,93m Joelinton 1,86m It doesn't mean everything, but we sure do have the height in our starting lineup. The general trend from the league has been an increase in % of goals from corners in the last years, but I suspect that our scoring rate from corners must have been bottom half in the league. Under Rafa and even Steve Bruce we scored loads on corners. https://archive.trainingground.guru/articles/why-newcastle-are-premier-leagues-corner-kings https://totalfootballanalysis.com/set-piece-analysis/premier-league-2019-20-newcastles-corner-success-set-piece-analysis-tactical-analysis-tactics It might be the only thing that we have regressed in since the takeover.
  4. They used to say that he got carried by his teammates at City.. Literally has about the same scoring rate for Norway. And at Dortmund before.
  5. Nusa cross to Haalands head once again.
  6. https://theanalyst.com/articles/premier-league-corner-stats-inswingers-vs-outswingers-short-vs-crossed-kai-havertzs-defending From the 22/23 season. We've done quite a few of the short ones. Any reason as to why teams still try short corners, even when the stats are against it? They have never looked good to me. I understand some of the theoretical appeal behind it, I just think it doesn't work well in practice. Maybe different seasons shows different stats.
  7. 28-3 in 6 games for Norway is pretty wild. No way Italy can catch that. They're at 12-7 in 4 games, so +20 behind.
  8. The Nusa - Haaland combo is so good for us. Nusa finds his head pretty often.
  9. Technically only counts as 1 miss, as it was retaken, so 9 misses out of 61. Still missed 2 chances to get that first goal there. If he had scored he would not have had to retake it.
  10. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/tempting-25m-deal-newcastle-united-32658577 Internationals are difficult for the journos. Lets give Ryder a click out of empathy. He tried really hard with this one.
  11. 10 when starting. 3 in the first season (+2 as a sub). 5 in the second one (+1 as a sub). 2 in the last season (where he scored 27 in total). Out of those 10 goals, 7 were penalties. So 3 non penalty goals.

    Nick Woltemade

He has already proven some of what he can do here. No coincidence that he plays better with us.
  13. Aubameyang 4 goals and a red card for Gabon against Gambia. 4-3.

It's not the price.. Romano did this with both Tonali and Woltemade. Added around €10-15m on top of the actual price.
  15. Is he responsible for taking Anderson and giving us Vlach in return? Get rid.
  16. It took Willock 1 year of injuries to become useless for us, meanwhile Reece James is still out there playing at a high level, with this history behind him: Ofcourse Willock was never near his level anyways, but the difference from pre and post injury was still massive.

Just wait until you find out the impact on the servers from calculating xG every game. It will be our undoing.

I wonder how much energy and resource we use in an average NO match thread. A bad run of form must be horrible for the water usage.
  19. Was starting a fair bit before the back injury. After aswell, but that was due to all the other injuries. Might be overrated by some, but I also think he is underrated by others. Wouldn't be surprised if he becomes a regular starter for England.
  20. We've never beaten these away in the top division (0-5-3, all in PL in recent years). We've beaten them away 4 times. 3 times in the 1960-1990 period (League Division Two), and once in the Championship (2017).
  21. Very far from the same impact offensively, but in a way that has shifted the focus towards being more reliable defensively, and he has looked much more solid at the back. Even at his best he would make a mess of it defensively at times, but we haven't seen those mistakes in a while.
