i'm sure DR Congo will ease him in at AFCON if it's right after his return. "So you can run for 10 seconds without much pain? Allright you're ready, 90 min 2 times a week for you."

Hope they lose in the WC qualifiers due to him not being there. What does 2nd place from the qualifiers get you? Play off?

Missing so many Champions League games thanks to his national team not caring one bit about his health. Bet he is happy with them.
  4. Would be our new record signing. They will charge that much.
  5. Educational stuff from googles AI. Apparently Lampard was hired as a Forest manager in 2023 to replace Nuno, but according to a report it hasn't been confirmed yet. Man Utds official website is on the case.
  6. The "mate" at the end. Absolute trolls.

    Malick Thiaw

A couple of less good games and he's a flop again.
  8. He has time on his side to become a 130m player.

    Nick Pope

Brought in Pope in FPL now, expect Ramsdale to go straight in as nr. 1 starting this weekend.

Sure, but potensially "overpaying" by 10-15m euros for someone isn't a "disaster" in my book (unless we do it often), especially not if they end up being worth more than what we paid anyways. Wolte looked very good in a 4-3-3 yesterday, linking up well with the wingers. I think that Liverpool played played 4-3-3 when Firmino was there? He made Mane and Salah look better.
  11. Woltemade - Gordon - Schar, the perfect midfield trio. When Bruno and Tonali gets ACL, while Ramsey, Miley and Joelinton does their hammy.

I agree with some of the things you said the other day, but generally calling our recruitments a disaster in advance is allways a bold statement. Yesterday Elanga (who is trusted, but just getting rotated btw) started and got man of the match, while Thiaw and Woltemade looked absolutely great once again. If you look at our track record during the 4 years under the new ownership, we have barely made a single mistake on the players that we actually did buy, despite the outside noise often being critical of most of our signings. Just about every club that we compete with has made more mistakes. People said we overpaid for players like Isak, Gordon, and Livramento. They said that Tonali didn't want to be here, so therefore he couldn't succeed. All of these has gone up in value by a lot. So far, everytime outsiders have been very negative about our recruitment, they end up having to eat their words. What many forget is that in nearly every case Eddie Howe gets the best out of players.

Bit of a chaotic window with the circumstances for sure. Luckily, if you're right, we are just talking about 10-15m euros extra for someone who I think will be more than worth the price we paid anyways. We paid slightly above MV for all the players we bought (imo), but we make most signings look like a bargain under Howe. Meanwhile some other teams buys 80m+ players that fails massively (hello Man Utd and Chelsea), and sell them for 40m less.

25m euro. I wonder if were we looking at other centre back alternatives at the time? Maybe we saw something in him in pre season that made us pull the trigger from an uncertain position. There must be a reason that we didn't move earlier if we have followed him for a while. It's hard to tell why from the outside.
  15. So now Thiaw, Botman and Burn are all "undroppable"? That means either 5-3-2 or Burn at left back, unless we are dropping Thiaw to play a left footed RCB.
  16. 25/26 6 points in 6 (1-3-2, 4-5) Villa (a), Liverpool (h), Leeds (a), Wolves (h), Bou (a), Arsenal (h), Forest (h), Brighton (a) 24/25: 12 points (3-3-2, 8-8) Soton (h), Bou (a), Spurs (h), Wolves (a), Fulham (a), Man City (h), Everton (a), Brighton (h) 23/24: 13 points (4-1-3, 20-9) Villa (h), Man City (a), Liverpool (h), Brighton (a), Brentford (h), Sheff U (a), Burnley (h), West Ham (a) 22/23: 11 points (2-5-1, 13-8) Forest (h), Brighton (a), Man City (h), Wolves (a), Liverpool (a), Palace (h), West Ham (a), Bou (h) I remember there were quite a bit of negativity in that 23/24 season after a difficult first 4 fixtures, but we were in a very good position by october/november. This must be the best start under Howe, and also the most difficult one fixture wise. After that it fell apart, for reasons we all know. I think this season is the second most difficult given the form of Villa, Wolves and Forest (we'll see how they look on sunday with the new manager, though).
  17. KDB with the assist to Højlund. A match made in heaven.

    Harvey Barnes

Must have been tough losing out on the CL campaign last time around after just having signed to play CL. Really happy for him to get a goal in CL this time around.
  19. https://theanalyst.com/articles/who-are-the-best-football-team-in-the-world-opta-power-rankings Probably doesn't mean that much, but Opta has them as the 21. best team in the world, above teams like Juve and Milan. Everton above Man Utd.
  20. If we beat Nottingham and Brighton away (I know, tough task), then we are pretty much on par with how we've started the previous 3 seasons.
  21. Maybe he doesn't feel comfortable with Trippier and Hall in a back 4?
