  1. So the tactic is to get them out wide instead of going through the middle? Edit: maybe it's 3 in the middle and no wingers, never mind.
  2. I can only imagine that some players can get discouraged by that kind of behaviour from the captain, even if they shouldn't let it affect them.
  3. I think everyone can agree that he isn't close to the level of our starters, but in a world where we had a choice I would still trust him to do a job more than Willock. It doesn't take much. Longstaff shouldn't be judged purely based on his last few months of being a sub, anyone can go through a rough spell. Willock however has lost the abilities that he was completely reliant on, and has barely had a good game in the last 2 years. Then you have the difference in injury history on top of that. What I was saying wasn't about whether he would be desirable as a starter or even 4th choice, it's about whether it was absolutely great to lose him as a 5th or even 6th choice, as fans celebrated getting rid and denied the possibility of lack of depth as a result. The bar for being a decent 5th choice shouldn't really be high realistically, especially given who we have as 5th choice currently. Admittedly this isn't of much importance, as I think everyone can also agree that the club just did what it had to do, given the circumstances.
  4. Bruno has very good abilities as a player. However, I wouldn't be surprised if they get better when he leaves and gets replaced. I truly believe that his body language, constant whining and negativity has a bad influence on his teammates. Especially how he's constanly complaining at his teammates, even in moments where he is the one at fault. When they are a goal or two down, he also loses a bit of composure, and starts blasting it into the stands from long range while whining and complaining to his teammates. In the last few years the mental part has been a huge issue for many players there.
  5. Did we ever try starting him only sporadically? Must be years ago if so. Barely got minutes at all last season after Tonali claimed the spot, and I don't think we can judge his ability as a rotation player with a few starts in a Europe season based purely on that period of just a few sub appearances. Just about every backup we've had the last years have looked lost given the same gametime last season. This season will require a lot more gametime from the backups, including starts I agree that nobody was probably in for Willock, and I'm assuming that Longstaff wanted to leave aswell. On top of that the contract situation gave us little choice. Still, that doesn't mean I was over the moon about it at the time.
  6. Yeah, nothing against the sale, lots of reasons for it. Just didn't get the sheer excitement here around the fact that we were getting rid of him.. He's atleast able to play a good game here and there when starting, unlike Willock. I expect Willock to get more starts simply because we have to.
  7. Probably yes, due to the contract situation. Didn't buy into the "we have to get rid nomatter what because he's useless" hyperbole though, just because of a bad run as a sub. I understand the sale all things considered, and it was probably right, but he wouldn't have been bad as a 5th choice. Just 1 month and 1 injury in, we are already starting Willock and Miley in league games. As usual claiming that we needed 2 midfielders when we sold him wasn't acknowledge, and now some act all surprised about what a normal amount of injuries and rotation does to our midifeld (and that buying more than 1 midfielder was difficult).
  8. I still wish we sold Willock instead, but we probably didn't have a choice. I suspect that if Longstaff didn't want to leave and we had an interested club for both, then Willock would be the one going.
  9. Not surprised at all. Was a brilliant signing by them. You can see why they kept bidding when we rejected the offers, and we knew they would. People wanted us to accept 10m..

    Dogawful Officiating

When first seeing the video I thought "well it wasn't intentional, maybe Minteh put his head down too low", etc.. Then I see the real reasoning, which is absurd. Can never give the refs the benefit of the doubt these days..
  11. We all know what will happen. Amorim will get replaced at some point, and froggy will be going on about how the new manager is much better, and point out Amorims shortcomings despite having defended him for ages.
  12. That last goal for Haaland. Burnleys CBs battling each other for a simple header, and gave it to him on a plate.
  13. I wonder what his stats were with us against a low block when we were not already in the lead.. Bet it was pretty shit.
  14. Remember Tonali absolutely smashing it for Italy after a year out? Was his first couple of starts after just a few minutes with us.
  15. Slot: 3 minutes was right because there were only 3 sub breaks and 1 goal.. Meanwhile here 4 sub breaks and 0 goals. 6 min.
  16. Minteh assist? Livescore won't update for me.
  17. Got more space playing for us. He could make the difference against the top teams, mind..
  18. Once again punished for being a sheep.. Everyone was going on about Bruno, but I was pretty sceptical due to how bad Man Utd are.. Caved in due to fear of missing out.
  19. Mbeumo really doesn't look the same when they are facing a low block. Good finisher, but no finesse.
  20. And they also play Bruno, their main creator, in a deeper role..
  21. Mbeumo and Cunha miss playing for counter attacks.
  22. I was fully expecting the offside without showing us the grapics.
