"The Dons managing director wanted to thank the Magpies on the record for staging their Carabao Cup tie at St James' Park" We can do the same for anyone else aswell.
-
And to address this point, even though IFAB already stated in the rules that neglibigle force is not a red. A missed punch also has different levels of force. I'd expect the force of the action, and not necessarily just the force of contact, to be decisive. You can use excessive force while missing the punch for instance.

Here is the definition of violent conduct on IFABs pages: The rules written on FA.com (which are the same rules made by IFAB) also makes no specific exceptions to headbutts or the things mentioned (which they would), and as stated this is what they said: So it clearly states that if you strike someone in the face with the hand or arm, if it's neglibigle force it will not qualify for a red. I'm not the one saying this, it's IFAB who are saying this. And yet you object to that.

Why didn't Grealish get sent off for elbowing Tonali in the stomach, if force doesn't matter? That would be a clear and obvious error, then.
-
"Intense foul with a lot of force that occurs away from the ball"? Was pretty sure point nr 2 is an extension of nr 1.
-
From IFAB: It includes things like headbutt. He was sent off for Violent Conduct, and this section states that it has to be forceful in any case. Even if the IFAB rules didn't confirm this, the rules I sent first would include a note to exclude headbutts from having to be forceful if they didn't have to be.

They won't get the same amount of freak injuries as we did, so that also helps them..
-
Lilewise they have atleast 4 more games than us currently. If we count the inevitable knock out stages for them. Talking about their league performances that is, which can get impacted by more games.
-
Basically describing the Schär incident with those, who got sent of for violent conduct. It states that the force has to be there. It says "unless the force was negligible".
-
Yeah, people were saying similar things about us after the 4-1 game vs PSG at this time of the season.
-
Durán scores nearly every game, but he never gets a start..
-
Also more games for them is a good thing if we're gonna compete with them in the league.
-
It would be the most Newcastle thing ever if Pope and Dubs were out for long, and we had to rely on our FFP scam, the least wanted player from the Forest squad.
-
Maybe we need to prepare a song for him after all..
-
He was never that good against low blocks, just like the rest of our players. Possibly bar Barnes that is.
-
I'm basically just waiting for the quarter finals at this point. I still don't even feel like watching.
-
1 point now. Still more than Justin.
-
There's also the new double jeopardy rule. The fact that Edersok went for the ball matters now (in terms of red or not red).
-
I have been defending referee or VAR decisions that went against us before, even when few people did, when it's the rules that are the problem. I don't agree with anyone who blames the rules on the on field ref and the VAR team on the day. This is one of the few times I defend a decision that went our way, and I instanly get called biased. I guess I can only defend decision that goes against us from now on, if I want to be "balanced".

If I had been on your side it this, you definelty wouldn't have cared.
-
He actually changed the direction right when he kicked it, to go to the side, in the same way you would do if you were actually trying to make it past the keeper with the ball. He was just taken down very shortly after the touch. You really need to watch it again, at both full speed and slow motion, instead of making things up. Whether he was really going for pen is another discussion, but that's a discussion that doesn't really matter if we are discussing whether the ref team made the right call yesterday. They had to give it.
-
Because it was a pen all day in todays football, and I have no idea how it even became a discussion. It's a matter of fact, not opinion. I myself wouldn't complain about the refs giving it against us at all. I would know that they had no choice. Besides, I was far from the only one being "argumentative". You picked out me, but don't mind the ones agreeing with you being "argumentative".
-
Was thinking LW aswell. But we have Gordon and Barnes there.
-
He clearly hits his left leg, and you can't really tell with certainty that Gordon could've stayed on his feet.. It doesn't take that much at that speed. Only Gordon knows. The refs can't tell either, and the rules are not at that level of subjectivity. If they were, we would have even more inconsistent refereeing. Going down easily was pretty common 15 years ago, by the way. I definetly think most players 15 years ago would go down there, even if it actually was possible to stay up. The ref will nearly allways give that on field, and that would be enough 15 years ago.
