Depends on what actually happened that summer, but in many possible scenarios I would probably be thinking the same if I was him.
-
Can't wait to see Mitchell get the blame for that, because obviously he's the one who wants DCL. For real though, I don't really think we will go for him, but lets see. You'd think that Osula will get more time on the field next season, assuming that he has some real potensial.
-
Christ, didn't know that. So they still remember the takeover, atleast some of them.
-
I think the media has already forgotten about our takeover. They've moved on from linking us with every overpaid 30+ primadonna out there.
-
In terms of wanting or not wanting him, many fans also didn't want Gordon when he was struggling in a team at the lower end of the table. I have no doubt he would be a great player for us despite recent form, it's just the obvious question of how much money.
-
Yeah, if we really want him, we might have to pay a little bit extra still. He will go to a different club later if not, so we also gotta think about what he's actually worth for us. If it's either paying lets say £50-60m or not getting him at all, it doesn't really matter for us that Palace is getting a good deal for their situation. As long as it's still a good deal for us aswell. Ofcourse, we're still going to negotiate based on their situation with him regardless, and not give in too easily.
-
Agreed. As mentioned above I also think it has to happen early from Palaces perspective, if they even want to sell. Unless they start replacing him before the sale, but that doesn't seem ideal in terms of negotiations.
-
We can't rely on him going on a strike though, like the Gordon deal. The Gordon deal wasn't really happening until he started forcing it (we were like £20m off their valuation and time was running out). This is a different situation though, really hard to tell what Palace will do about any bid after what they did in the summer. Could go both ways really.
-
We should atleast act fast with the bids, the longer it goes through the window, the less likely they are to crack. They probably need the deal to be done early ish, so they can reinvest and replace him.
-
Apparently they spent a couple of minutes on it aswell.
-
Coote on VAR by any chance? They're on them lines again..
-
I can see Guehi just run down his contract, and then have several clubs offer him hefty wages. Edit: forgot he has another year..
-
Hall was signed in 1st of july this year, so I believe he didn't really impact it that much.
-
He probably didn't find the comment very funny, but I don't think Son was all that hurt either. He knows he didn't mean to be hurtful. South Americans look at this type of "humour" in a completely different way than us. The FA are probably in the right to do a harsh ban still, if you look at the bigger picture. We don't want to normalize it (or in the case of certain parts of the world where it's already normalized, we want to take a stance against the broader acceptance for it).

Crazy how different our affection for the Bruce players are now compared to how it used to be. Longstaff and Willock weren't good enough, and Joelinton was a laughing stock. Schär was almost forgotten. Our midfield was considered to be a weak spot in a terrible team, but we had Willock, big Joe and Longstaff at our disposal. Today some of these players are like heroes to most.

I think his best form so far has been with us in the PL, in the last half of the 18/19 season. His current form might surpass that, but he didn't do as well for Betis as he did for us in 2019.

I've been going on about Nusa way too much already, but I just thought of Brentford. They were buying him last summer for 30m, and he was ready to go. The deal broke down because they got nervous about something in the medical. Turned out he was fine, so he went to Leipzing. Brentford must be kicking themselves.
-
Their team was already past its prime like 4 years ago. Their golden generation is long gone. That's part of the reason why they did so poorly last 2 championships, all their best players were old.
-
The other guy (whoever that is) looks so proud.
-
Bobb - Ødegaard - Nusa Haaland And then you have Sørloth as an impact sub or starter in the case of injuries. Probably going to be miles ahead of any attack we've ever had, atleast if Bobb and Nusa can avoid injury problems during development.
-
This kid is 19 years old.. vs Slovenia: vs Kazakhstan:
-
Every goal for Norway is just Haaland and Nusa. Nusa literally creating everything for us at the moment.

You realise that he didn't say it was a decent fee? He's making a prediction of what he thinks could happen in a specific (far from ideal) scenario, just like he explained in the quote I gave you. You can disagree with the possibility of that fee in that situation, but that's besides the point. Maybe you should read posts more carefully going forward. That way you won't twist peoples opinions into something different.

In the winter window? Too early. It won't even help PSR that much in the short term. I think the risk of getting less in the summer is low. His actual value is higher than what we paid imo. If you asked the same question for Hall last season (before that last period), I think many would say yes to taking back the £35m.
