I knew I was right in not celebrating goals incase of VAR intervention..

We should at the very least be able to improve squad depth. We desperately need it. We still have a strong core. A premium centre back would be neat though.
-
The point is that a player isn't necessarily worse just because he isn't one of the most obvious ones that the top clubs will also be chasing. We used to be smart and recognized our place in the market. It seems like we have now gotten ahead of ourselves, and think that we have the pull to compete for some of the top targets because of the season we just had. We are not there financially yet, despite the season we had, and these players also knows that. We need to be smart and creative like we used to be.
-
Would Isak and Botman have been in the "worse players" category if we had instead went for the same targets as the sky six in 2022? Were Livra, Tonali and Hall also in the "worse players" category, as they were not the targets of sky six teams?
-
We've had amazing windows before where we didn't go for the same players as Chelsea, Liverpool, Man Utd etc. There are other players out there. The fact that they are trying to sign players doesn't make them competent.

It wasn't only that assist, far from it. We were already praising him before that game, that assist was just the icing on the cake. That assist is just what really sticks in our memory.
-
We need a CM regardless of whether he's fine or not. I doesn't even need to be an expensive one. Yet I'm not confident that we will get one until I see it.
-
It's definetly not as easy for our owners to replace him as many made it out to be. If so we would have a replacement already.
-
Still. Even when keeping Willock we need a new CM now. The club didn't even seem to be looking for midfielders before this injury. So many was convinced we would sell Longstaff and just easily get a better replacement with the added funds. As long as Longstaff wanted out we couldn't hold him against his will, ofcourse.
-
Kept saying this earlier in the window. Longstaff isn't great. But this "just use the money to replace him" obviously doesn't work with the current ownership. It's not like in FM. Personally I'm convinced that Longstaff was sold because he wanted out, and not because the club had a plan to replace him. If we weren't going to replace the midfielder we were going to sell, I'd rather sell Willock over Longstaff going into a CL season, due to Willocks injuries.
-
So that means he's a top target, then. We don't really do bids around here.
-
So we negotiate the price, and then Man Utd match it and double the wages?
-
Probably lower percentage of "kicking the ball out for a throw in".
-
Hmm.. Isn't he more of a shot stopper and not so much a distributor? What does he give us that Pope doesn't? Less injuries I suppose.. His distribution is probably a little better atleast?
-
Excuse my ignorance, but I was looking at net spend for the last 5 years in PL. How come Villa is in trouble when their net spend is -97m euros over 5 years, and they have qualified for Europe 3 years in a row? Is it the wage spendings?
-
He probably wants to get hired by the papers, because he's at their level. He might have to work a bit on the creativity, though, but it's still not a high bar to reach.

Shelvey, but yeah.. Shelvey was more about Forest being nuts. Oh, and Kelly ofcourse, but also that one was about Juve being nuts.
