  1. I start laughing everytime I see the words "project big picture". Ah yeah silly us, we're only against it because we're just not seeing the bigger picture!

Bet he has seen him play no more than 3 times at best, and is jumping to conclusions based on that.
  3. Which makes narratives such as the banner Palace fans was showing so much more ridiculous, as if Premier League was welcoming Saudi and their money to the Premier League with open arms. Obviously the Premier League hated the takeover even before it happened, but they were forced to accept it in the end.
  4. And if they hadn't resolved issues and accepted the takeover at the time, they would've risked being forced to show these things to the public? Or am I wrong?
  5. Joelinton has done very well at LW lately, after struggling at CM. Honestly I still believe LW has been his best position ever since Howe came in. There are a few things that makes him a little less suited centrally, but ofcourse at times he has done a job for us there aswell.
  6. Didn't Ashley and the Saudis push for PL to release e-mails and/or documents related to the whole "fit and proper" saga right before they gave in and approved it? I remember something really shady like this. Since it got approved, they weren't pressured into releasing the mail/documents anymore. Maybe my memory is bad here, but I remember thinking at the time that we made the takeover happen by trying to force them to reveal something that they absolutely didn't want to, so they would rather let it happen at that point.

Just realised that Brentford are top of the home table, while having 0 points away from home.. Their fixtures did contribute a lot to this effect, mind.

    Marc Guehi

Yeah, 28. But they were never going to keep Guehi long term, and his value will just gradually drop down from what we offered unless they manage to get him on a new contract.
  9. Before the season it was said that he will miss the first 3-5 games due to a back injury..

Reece James man. Might get less gametime than Wilson at this point.

They're basically going to sell him at the price they got for Andersen at this point. Still can't understand why they would rather sell Andersen at £35m..

Anthony Gordon at Everton says hi.
  13. I think the dealine for this 3 year period is still 30th of june?

    Blaming Howe once again, shameless!
  15. Yeah, I was thinking about some talk on the forum prior to last deadline, about how we can finally spend some more come july with that first season (21/22) being replaced from the equation for the next period. That clearly wasn't the case if we still can't spend. I agree, everything about FPL has been carefully calculated by the PL. Even the fact that the gap from midtable teams to bottom is getting bigger is great for keeping enough clubs on board for rule changes that suits their needs. But with what the latest court cases has revealed and how PL has reacted to them, it's finally becoming obvious to more and more people what the PSR stuff is really about. PL is acting desperate after our takeover, and it's starting to peel their mask off.
  16. I remember something about last deadline getting rid of that first january window, and how that would give us more room. Seems like getting rid of that first january is only good for keeping us out if trouble..
  17. PSR is crazy. In the last 2 windows we've signed Hall, Vlachodimos, Kelly and Osula for around £70m. Sold Minteh and Anderson for like £75m. So basically net spent is -£5m last 2 windows, and we need to sell to be able to spend? I didn't think our wage budget was all that crazy, but I guess it has gotten a lot bigger with new contracts, Kelly(?), Tonali and so on. I know there's amortization from older signings, but overall our spending hasn't been that crazy since takeover.

They did finish 16th last season. They are scoring a lot currently, but only 1 team has conceded more. They may very well end up at around 15th again.
  19. I was never really convinced that we would go ham in january despite the summer window, we only did it once, and everything was on the line back then. Can't expect miracles from Mitchell if we don't have money to spend, but there might be a sale still that can help us.

I can see him going with whatever the club/Howe had planned in the first window, having arrived like 5 minutes ago. It's probably what many fans would say that he should do, had they been asked about it the when he arrived. Makes more sense to me instead of changing everything up on the first few days, without even having had time to map out where we are at, unlike Howe who at the time had been here for nearly 3 years. Ofcourse there had to be some agreement there between the parties, but he might have been careful simply because it was such early days for him.

Going back to when Howe said that if his key players wants to go to a Champions League side, they need to play like Champions League players. It's possible for someone to frame it as him blaming the players for the form we were in, but in reality he was just being very straightforward, something he often isn't. Our form has been much better after that statement, and although there are several reasons for that, maybe some players needed a wakeup call. Not an exact comparison at all, but more on the topic of how we can frame statements in different ways.

Fair. As you probably agree with, he might be a bit defensive since he feels like he has gotten too much stick from such a difficult situation. I think he also felt like he was being used as a some kind of a scapegoat, and he probably feels uncomfortable about already being unpopular amongst fans for something that may not have been his fault, atleast not to a large degree (I know, this is a bit speculative). I agree that he would be a bad politician, I think he's just answering honestly as if it was a private conversation, and not really thinking too much about it. I don't mind it personally, but that's subjective.

The thing is he was asked about how he has settled in the first 5 months. He replies with his own honest experience of the first 5 months. "mistakes were made, but we're gonna learn from them and come back stronger" would be a bit of an odd answer to that question, as the question was about him specifically.

Haven't heard any of it yet. But.. I find it interesting that when he actually admits he found it difficult, which is the opposite of blaming everybody else, you complain that aswell for not sounding competent. Whichever route he takes you seem to look to interpret it in a bad way.
