Which would be counter productive, because it would be at the expense of other players. More "loyalty" to Burn = less "loyalty" for Tino. He could've been loyal to Tino after his spell in the team, but he dropped him at the first opportunity.

Then why was he picked to play against "his worst nightmare"? Personally I don't have a personal agenda against Burn, what I have a problem with is the decision to allways play him over Tino.

As much as I think Howe can be pretty stubborn at times, I would still be really surprised if Livramento isn't starting the next one.
  4. I'd have to see it in video instead of still images. Anyways, you seem to be forgetting that we already saw the left back upgrade being necessary before the season even started. It's not like he's been more than good enough for one and a half year, and now all of a sudden people are getting on his back for one bad performance. He has had good games aswell, but he's one of our most limited senior players (if not the most) if you judge him by the position he plays (left back). This leads to a lot of inconsistency when he is playing all the time regardless of opponent and situation. It's obvious that Livramento is an upgrade overall, despite the fact that Burn can sometimes win a header that Livramento can't. Because that ignores all other aspects of the game.
  5. I didn't know that Burn is 5 meters tall.
  6. He also never gets injured. Like they have terrible coverage in that position, but it doesn't matter when Watkins can play every single game anyways.

He's great as a backup option.. He can cover both CB and LB. But even before the season we expected someone to take his place. If someone told me 1 year ago that he would still be our first choice LB as of today, I would be surprised.
  8. If Villa hits form again now it's kind of crazy how similar their season is to ours last season. We also had a dip in form in january where most people started to doubt, but got back to winning ways in february.

    Anthony Gordon

Earlier this week I literally joked about Anderson being back being a bad thing, since that means one of our current CMs will get injured. Seems like it's bound to happen.
  10. Oh dear.. Hodgson opted to play him again and he lasted 10 minutes. Talk about being short sighted. Literally made the same mistake some days ago and didn't learn at all. The game was pretty much over aswell, 3-0 at half time.
  11. Going back to what he said in that interview.. "I truly believe that if you keep being consistent with what you do, good things will come." Being consistent can be great, but sometimes we need some flexibility..
  12. When was the last time Burn got dropped for having a bad game? Livramento has been way more consistent overall, so why is it then that Burn keeps the spot regardless of his overall performances compared to Livra?
  13. I kind of wonder why Livra lost his place though? He barely had a bad game. It seems like Livra is held to a way higher standard than Burn for some reason, because Burn can drop stinkers without losing his place while Livra has to be a world beater to keep it. Maybe it's tactical? I just feel like it doesn't really send the right message. Right now they are not really competing for the spot, because Burn will play nomatter what.

Doesn't even matter. Expect him to start next game.

I'm starting to think that we are stuck with Burn as a starter until he's 40.
  16. Just 2 months left until Willock and Anderson are back. In the mean time there's Alfie Harrison.
  17. Van de Ven is very quick for a CB..

    Alexander Isak

Wouldn't be the first time that we decided to start a player who shouldn't. Why did Pep "risk losing" to us by putting De Bruyne on the bench? He had been injury free for a good while at that point. He was one of their very best players available. When did being careful with a player whos had a muscle injury stop being a reasonable thing to do? If you think leaving out Isak for one game is bad, imagine having him being out for several games. We would be "risking points" for way more than 1 game if he gets injured. Obviously it's up to the medical team and Howe to assess the injury, so hopefully they make the right decision..
  19. He said things in the media first with the Sancho situation.. Such gaslighting.
  20. 14 g/a in the league aint that bad. He might be wasteful, but he plays really well in general and he rarely gets injured. There's a reason why he's starting every game ahead of players like Gakpo and Jota.
  21. What happened to Maddison? Muscular again?
  22. How does Man City have 0 injuries in their entire squad?
  23. That means that one of our current midfielders will get injured now, because our injury situation is programmed to never improve. Worrying.
  24. We've been playing at the same level at home. Just a huge difference away from home really. We looked like ourselves in 2 away games in the league, second one being yesterday.
