Not sure what the hierarchy structure is but Howe doesn't sound massive keen on signings. He keeps getting asked and just says "it depends on injuries". Contrast that to his words last May and it's definitely not certain we'll get anyone.

.com has his contract up in 2028. If we get Champions League this year we should offer him a massive, lengthy contract to keep him here. He's 28 so it's probably one big move soon or stay till he's finished.

Was watching some old season reviews a few weeks ago and I became more and more convinced that Ferdinand is the best all-round striker I've ever seen here. He was absolutely unstoppable. 50 goals in 84 games without a single penalty.

Is the penny starting to drop for people about how it's extremely difficult to win and even play well regularly this season? It's hard normally but it's now by far the most competitive PL season ever. Literally free spending Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea and Man Utd just dropping points against Leeds, Sunderland, Bournemouth and Wolves says it all and they aren't isolated incidents. There's 10 points separating 4th and 15th in January which is ridiculous and the team in 15th havent won since October. I don't understand why we expect Howe to be above all this and how he needs to "sort it out" when it's nearly every team in the league, of which quite a few have spent far more than we have in recent windows and some have even changed managers. If they can't "sort it out" why should it be so easy for Howe to do it? We've only just replaced our 20 goal striker a few weeks ago. The cream will rise to the top and Howe's previous seasons prove he's capable of getting the job done both in the league and the cups.

Frankfurt being after Osula is very interesting as they have an excellent record with strikers recently. Made 60 million on Ekitike, 75 million on Marmoush and 95 million on Kolo Muani. They're clearly seeing something in him that we aren't.

He really is the modern day Michael Owen. As loathsome as he is fragile.

He's going to absolutely bang them in. Losing a 20 goal striker has been largely ignored in the criticism/fury so this should help.

If Howe needs sacking then so does Slot, Amorim, Maresca, Frank and maybe more. They're all in essentially the same position as we are and they've spent loads in the summer on players who are either shite or playing shite. Even just the ones we were linked to are great examples. All the Veruca Salt's should remember progress isn't linear in the most competitive PL era ever and money guarantees nothing. Ekitike scored twice today mainly just by working hard and staying alert. He didn't need the whole team built around him. The fact that Slot is openly referencing Murphy's significance is majestic and it sums up the transfer entirely. They bought him because they could but didn't stop to think if they should.
