  1. Got beat fair and square by a good team who are now 6 points off second heading into February. Win against Southampton next week and we’re back on track.

    James Trafford

    He’s passed the audition.
  3. With the current rules, overachieving is the new improving. Luckily we’ve got a manager who specialises in overachieving.
  4. He’s going at the right time tbh. If Murphy was to get injured now and Almiron had to play the next 4 months he’d be hated by the end of it. Murphy has raised the bar significantly and we’d be a much worse team with Almiron.

    Jacob Murphy

No intended hate towards Almiron but the more Murphy plays the worse Almiron looks in hindsight. It feels like Murphy offers more offensively in 1 game than Almiron does/did in 20. Overall, It’s likely Howe has just told him to keep it simple and try to find Isak whenever possible. It was him who passed it to Isak for the first goal tonight but probably won’t get the assist.
  6. Keegan took us from much further down to much higher up so that’ll take some beating but it’s definitely achievable in the next few years for Howe.

    Alexander Isak

Easy to forget Beardsley was in his 30’s when he was here the second time. I think he averaged a goal every 4 games on top of seemingly countless assists.

    Alexander Isak

If he stays till he retires he’ll demolish Shearer’s record. He’s about 1/4 of the way there after 90 games and we as a club/team are only getting better.
  9. He’s getting the protection he wasn’t getting a year ago. This is probably us at our best defensively.

    Will Osula

Shades of Fabrice Pancrate with that one. Just noticed the Wikipedia entry for that goal is rather informal “He scored his first goal on 5 December 2009, after producing an impressive bit of skill, before mullering the ball in off the crossbar, in a 2–0 home victory over Watford, after coming on as a substitute.”
  11. I thought he was sat up at one point but I was trying not to watch tbh.
  12. Bromley, Wolves, Bournemouth, Southampton and Fulham up next with only Southampton being away. Could realistically win all of them.
  13. He’s genuinely not far off the best we’ve ever had at this point.

    Jacob Murphy

Literally unstoppable. He’s adding millions onto Isak’s valuation.
  15. I really, really love how much of an enigma he is both on and off the pitch. Nobody even knowing if he has retired is so him.
  16. 6 points off 18th at the minute.
  17. As expensive as he’d be, Mbuemo would pay for himself over time. He personally could be the difference between Champions League and Europa League this year. Dibling would be a wait and see for a presumably not too dissimilar fee.
  18. 3 wins in the league since 1st October for Bruce and now 10 points off relegation.

    Alexander Isak

“Since the start of last season, Alexander Isak has scored 34 Premier League goals. Only Erling Haaland (43) & Mohamed Salah (35) have managed more” Haaland - 4,345 minutes, 48.2 games Salah - 4,114 minutes, 45.7 games Isak - 3,718 minutes, 41.3 games.
  20. He was really attacking the ball from offensive corners and free kicks. Should be good for a few goals in the next few months.
  21. Now 11 points clear of Tottenham and 15 clear of Man Utd. Next games… Liverpool vs Man Utd Arsenal vs Tottenham Newcastle vs Wolves We should be almost guaranteed to finish above them if these games go as expected.

    Jacob Murphy

    11 in the league.
  23. 7 points off relegation on January 1st with Liverpool away next.
  24. When we beat Tottenham we’ll be 11 points clear of them and Man Utd losing to Liverpool would put us 13 clear of them. 2 European rivals eliminated by 5th January. We’d absolutely not be in such a great position if he’d been sacked a month ago.
  25. There’s far too many clips of Onana passing the ball directly to the opposition on the edge of the box and failing to save basic shots. Wolves scored directly from a corner today if anyone hasn’t seen it. Pope has his flaws but he unquestionably gains us many points a season.
