  1. Rate Chalobah, he'd be a starting CB for Chelsea if they weren't nuts. I'm sure he's been one of their best players since he came back from Palace Also if the club are addicted to their long term targets.. Then Burn and Schar are so old, we will likely need another CB next year or so anyway So could get Chalobah this summer + long term target next summer
  2. Big no from me, can't think of a bigger drop off from Isak to DCL Also, we need a CM, we've lost Longstaff and Anderson in the last 12 months and replaced neither. And Joelinton misses 30% plus of games each season
  3. Looking at the City fans comments, Trafford isn't great with the ball at his feet, he's just decent / not bad Which would still be a significant upgrade in what we have with Pope. Let's hope Pep sticks with his usual type of keeper in Ederson/Costa, and swerves Trafford
  4. Haven't read Lukes article But is it safe to assume that most of these targets we have missed out on is primarily ST/RW? And we have a RW in now we are supposedly happy with. Though now our number 1 GK target is looking unlikely I guess I'm just trying to see the positives, there hasn't been much noise around us bidding for CB's and CM's, so hopefully we get some impressive players in these positions
  5. Done the old twitter / YouTube 10 min scout and he look a player who'd improve us for sure Also at 6ft 2 and plays with a presence which Howe likes
  6. Have you received any more insight recently on our transfer business?
  7. Yeah agree, and Gallagher would be great in a Howe team Elanga £55m Luiz £30m Maignan £15 Those 3 for £100m would be great business. 1 long term RW secured, and the other 2 would provide value for 3-5 years and could be sold to Saudi Then split the rest across the ST/CB For reference if we look at our long term targets we've bid for, and what they've went for/rumoured to go for Pedro £60m Elanga £55m rafford £40m Thats £155m, still wanting a CM too with that. Of course these long term targets are younger than the previous suggestions, but yeah, there's value out there I'm sure
  8. If City get Trafford... Mike Maignan anyone?? I'm sure Chelsea were in discussions of around £15m. Not bad at all for a keeper of his calibre, 30 years old, could probably go to Saudi too after a few years. Google says his wages are €70k pw While I'm thinking of random players, Douglas Luiz too? Sure he's been touted for around £30m or so... Though wages could be an issue. 27 years old and would be a great 3rd/4th choice Maignan and Luiz for ~£45m wouldn't be a bad way to strengthen GK and CM whilst our primary targets are unavailable / seemingly hard to get done
  9. As a player, yes. I think Kudus is one of the best dribbers in the league, can score off either foot, tenacious etc. Could see him at a top team like Man City or Liverpool However, I also rate Elanga, and think Elanga is a better fit for us, so I'm pleased we have him

Aren't Spurs loaded with attacking options?
  11. As if we didn't pay £55m for Elanga, Mbeumo went for £71m, etc etc?? Kudus was the bargain at £55m or whatever he was for Spurs
  12. He looks foaming in the latest video we put out
  13. Not my favourite move either, at all, but what if there are no long term targets / targets in the mould of Pedro/Ekitike A cheaper stop-gap singing might be the best, rather than spend more on a signing we aren't convinced by, or do nothing for this position
  14. Said pretty much what I said several posts back, albeit more succinct 😂
  15. Am I over simplifying the situation here? If these 3 things are true - We want to keep Isak, for least 1 more season, or get him to sign a new long term contract - We genuinely want to sign Ekitike now, this window and are prepared to pay between £70m - rumoured release clause, and have agreed personal terms - Isak is Liverpools number 1 target, and Ekitike is their 2nd Then what’s actually holding this up? If we've lodged a second bid to Frankfurt that meets the 'informal' release clause, but they’re hoping Liverpool will enter the race and spark a bidding war, and Liverpool can’t get Isak this summer, then why haven’t they made a move yet? What exactly are they waiting for? Us to shit ourselves and accept £120m? I just can’t see a scenario where we’re sitting here waiting for Frankfurt, Frankfurt are waiting for Liverpool, and Liverpool are waiting for Isak. If nothing happens, then we are clearly the happier out of the 3 clubs by retaining Isak.
  16. Offering to pay the release clause would certainly call Liverpools bluff and force there hand..
  17. Makes sense, but I'd have thought this would all have happened internally first As in, I'd assume Isak was told by both us and Liverpool that they would like him, for around £120m, and we've said no. Telling the tier 1 journalists this doesn't affect us/Isak/Liverpool, it just puts the fans of both sides into overdrive
  18. Stupid question here I understand why clubs pay these journalists/influencers Putting the fact they can control to the narrative to us lot aside, but why would Liverpool pay Romano/Ornstien to say what they have, I'm sure our transfer team aren't sitting on X waiting for updates about what Liverpool will/won't do, rather I'd assume that Ekitike/Frankfurt/Liverpool would be in dialogue with us about the current situation??
  19. Isn't this well known to be a fake account / person?
  20. With Ekitike so in demand / admired across Europe, and the ST market being so poor, would it not be worth us over-paying for him, or at least going above our supposed £70m offer to get it done ASAP, so we hold all card next summer with potentially 2 of the best number 9's in football?
  21. Thoughts on breaking up the Bruno/Tonali/Joelinton trio? If Joelinton is dropped for Ekitike, we'd have to make up for his athleticism somewhere else, or change the style so we can do without it I know how played 4-4-2 at Bournemouth, but just feels the 4-3-3 is our bread and butter now
  22. Agree about one of the best 11's in Europe But that means 2 left wingers in Gordon/Barnes on the bench (squad depth and all that...) but they can't do what Joelinton does, and he misses roughly 1/3 of a season, so could this only be played with him fit? Cant see us doing as well with a 2 man midfield, especially with how transition heavy football is now
  23. I understand the 4-4-2 suggestions, or 4-2-3-1 with Ekitike / Isak, but I could only see this being used on occasion, I just can't see is moving substantially away from the 4-4-3 Were built towards the 4-3-3 and have had enormous success. I'm sure Eddie knows better now than he did in his Bournemouth days. Though on the other hand, the usual 'formation' is a bit redundant these days as teams have completely different formations whether with the ball, without, rest defence etc etc Arsenal have an amazing 4-4-2 midblock, but we seem to prefer 4-5-1 or 5-4-1.
  24. Has Edwards ever broke a genuine exclusive that we've actually signed, that isn't already doing rumours already before hand? Just feel he is the club's number 1 journalist to fire the smokescreens at
