Anyone know how he will fit into our high pressing style? Does he look good for it?
-
What time are they doing the actual draw?
-
Does singing Ramsey not rule out Mainoo? Doesn't he play on the left side of midfield?
-
Ekitike and Pedro looking like absolute bargains now
-
Wow! Could we handle in a FFP sense, signing both Wissa, JSL, and keeping Isak for this season and sell next summer?
-
When's the first domestic cup game? Reckon he gets his first start then with some sub minutes as and when in the prem?
-
So excited to see him in the team, hard to imagine a change / improvement to our midfield 3 as they are so good, but he hopefully will be that
-
Its an interesting topic thinking of strikers for us Clearly we like / prioritise a certain type, ala Isak, Ekitike, Pedro And there doesn't appear to be any left. Larsen and Wissa seem like a different type of striker, I wonder what we prefer vs what is the better value for money
-
£60m or so is a bargain for Eze, if we had sold Gordon, I'd have wanted us to get him for the LW Eze and Kudus is a great LW/RW combo
-
Just realised Samu had the surname 'Omorodion' before he changed it to the current Makes sense as I remember seeing that name a lot a while ago and been thinking, ain't there 2 young, talented Samu's out there. Nope!

Looking at Miley in isolation, I deffo think he needs a loan Considering our team, we prefer to play with 3 midfielders, not a 10 or AM. I think we need our 3 starters, and our 4th midfielder needs to be equally as good as the first 3 (hopefully Ramsey becomes this, maybe even better than Joelinton if he gets back to his previous form + Howe magic + playing in a better position for him etc) So thats 4 first team level players, the 5th imo needs to also be good, trusted to take serious minutes, 60 games needs rotation and injury cover Just rough numbers... Bruno / Tonali - 45/50 games each Joelinton / Ramsey 30 games each Could he take the 20/30 games off Bruno/Tonali without a drop in team performance, and would this be the best scenario for him to develop?
-
I don't think it was. We smashed the bottom 6 teams home and away looking at the h2h table From memory, we struggled against the likes of Bournemouth, Fulham, Brighton etc, those 8th-12th placed teams
-
He's massive, love a big CB
-
How bad must Villa be FFP wise if they sold their Woman's team for £50m and still need sales to comply / spend a little amount?!
-
Maybe cope, but I'm sure I seen a stat where Guehi is in the top 5 worst CB's at winning his headers (Schar was in there too mind) Not a good stat for a PL / Champions League chasing team
-
We deffo wanted sign him before Villa sold their woman's team like Shame we missed the chance before the PSR fuckery
-
Thats my ideal / dream like
-
What type of player is he, what are his attributes, would be a Joelinton rotation option etc? Never paid any attention to him, but loads of twitter people seem to rate him
-
The lack of midfield action perplexes me Howe showed last year he only trusted Bruno, Tonali, Joelinton He'd rather change formation than play Willock/Longstaff/Miley He's a smart bloke, he must know that we need at least 1 reinforcement there I'm hoping it's just that our targets haven't been leaked at all and something good will happen eventually. But its probably our retarded transfer approach of working on 1 position at a time
-
Think I'd be happy if we got Thiaw From highlights, he's Tall, fast for his size, strong in the tackle, wins his headers, and looks to be a brilliant passer of the ball into midfield / over the top Not sure what the data says He's been linked with us for ages, and we've not missed a single time when we've got one of our long term targets I'm sure we preferred Guehi last year / this year as he's a more 'plug and play' type, immediate impact, no doubt partly as Howe probably feels the pressure to not regress while we bed in new players
-
So Villa could have a midfield 3 of Kamara, Tielmans and Onana, and a front 3 of Watkins, Rogers and Guessand... If the formation allows Very good that like. Guessand looks a player off the YouTube scouting and stats too, though probably wouldn't suit our line ups
-
Surely that's not much profit with only 2 years amortised, and they bought him for around £65m - £85m?
-
Is this pure cope of the highest order But if we keep Isak for 1 more year, is there a chance he thinks 'fuck it, might as well have a good year so every club in Europe wants me, I'll get better wages etc' And we have Elanga + someone like Wissa on top of our very productive forward line?
-
FFS, didn't want him, especially for the price, but over the last week managed to read and watch a lot of him to convince myself he can make as much of an impact as Isak Probably all for nothing Hope we keep and get Wissa if not
-
The same reason we bought Hall for £35m to have him as third choice LB for a season I like it when we buy elite talent when the market opportunity presents itself
