Seriously though, with most of this stuff it's hard judging players who we haven't seen much or at all. In a window where we kept missing out our top targets, (Huijens, Guehi, maybe Scalvini and Leoni if they was ever serious links) and then buying a guy we decided against going for last year who a not particularly strong Milan team were willing to offload for 20mil, you can see how people might be underwhelmed. Anyway, still early days for him but he's looking great. Very nice combination of physicality and technique and seems a lovely lad as well.

Wonder how much he's helped Thiaw get off to a good start. At his age Trips obviously isn't quite the player he was a couple of years ago, but he's vastly experienced, an absolute leader and talks, talks, talks. Must be a great person to have next to you to help you learn your role in a new team.
