  1. Didn’t realise Villa losses were so huge. Doesn’t feel sustainable at all their model moving forward, can sell women’s team for a short term boost to help with PSR but the losses are still going to be coming thick and fast.

    Lewis Hall

What was the ankle injury he had? Feels more serious then I thought if he’s only just now back running.
  3. Didn’t start first 4 games, but come off bench in all 4. Then started started 4 in a row, completing 90 mins in 3 of them, then back on bench for 9th game. Mixed in with 2 appearances off the bench in UCL. Then his back injury ruled him out until March, missing essentially 4 full months which is often the busy months. Then starts 50% of remaining 12 league games when he’s back from injury in our push for Europe. Coming off bench in rest of them. That’s plenty of minutes for a breakout season and it’s silly to say otherwise. That’s what you want from a young player and what we would’ve wanted for Miley this season gone.
  4. He got plenty of minutes in his last season for us, and would’ve got even more if he didn’t get injured. Probably would’ve ended up around 2000 minutes which would’ve been some going for a breakout season in Prem. Think there’s a valid argument he would’ve been pushing Joelinton to take his starting spot. Howe clearly rated him by how much he was played before and post injury.
  5. Elliot has always been good, been saying it for a while. Like his output in the championship at his age was elite, and Klopp always turned to him as the main man off the bench. Slot just weirdly doesn’t want him which will be a bad move by Liverpool but he’s got the power now.
  6. Shite from the keeper mind you.
  7. Emphatic finish from that man Elliot
  8. What’s Scalvini pace like? I’m assuming like Botman, where he’s not quick but serviceable by the stride length. Torn on wanting a defender that’s rapid to sweep up counters and one that’s Uber aggressive in the press that stops counters before it happens.
  9. The main attribute that gets me excited about Elanga is his pace. Proper elite pace that not many can match. That always excites me in forward players, but it has to come with good decision making. Looked to be getting better at that last season for Forest compared to his Man Utd days, but still levels to go. Don’t think we’ll got above £55m once add ons are taken into consideration, so this feels a first move, wait and see what the feeling is over next few days from player, agent and club side, and make another bid around £50m with intention we can stretch a bit further if needed. Forest are kidding themselves if they don’t need a sale this summer. MGW and Murillo their other key players, and MGW window looks to have gone after Man City went elsewhere.
  10. Appreciate the club leaking this deal though so it gives us something fresh to work off for rest of the week.
  11. Yea, this stinks of Guehi 2.0 £45m is already the top end, straight out rejected, let’s move on. Played our cards and now leave it.
  12. I’d be proper gutted if we lost Isak. Not had a striker score 20 in prem since Shearer, let alone back to back 20+ seasons and probably a third in a row. Strikers who score are the fun guys, especially ones that ooze the style that Isak has. Not just a poacher, but all around top player that gets you off your seat.
  13. Giving his recent injuries, probably say there's more chance he ends up following similar path to Yusuf Demir.
  14. Only their TV games for me, but having watched him at the u21 Euros, then for Burnley in Prem, there is a clear progression in his game I've seen. There may still be occasional mistake in his game, but for a 22yr old keeper with the games he has under his belt, you will be hard pressed to get better across Europe IMO. A position locked down for a long time goes a long way. Would even say £30m isn't that big in the goalkeeper stakes when you consider Chelsea have spent god knows what on many GKs, Man Utd £50m on Onana, Arsenal near £30m on Ramsdale, Mamardashvili for £30m. All who over recent seasons have shown countless mistakes in their game.
  15. I’m all in on Trafford as mentioned before. Future England number one who has done his apprenticeship across the lower leagues and a stint in Premier League, on top of winning the last U21 Euros. He’s as well positioned as a young goalkeeper you can get across Europe right now, for having the early experience and on the job learning before a big move. 150 pro games. Easy to forget that someone like Pope had nearly half as many pro appearances before getting his Burnley break out at 25.

    Marc Guehi

Running down his deal is wise, but still a gamble. Doesn’t get injured, or dropped by Palace as season goes on, he could end up commanding a £10m+ signing on fee, or very high wages due to no fee. If he is dropped / injured, there’s a strong chance he doesn’t go World Cup and suddenly his stock is looking very low. Where the top sides are probably looking elsewhere for the associated wages he’d cost. Might be a ploy to get Palace to sell at a lower value, especially if Glasner tells Parish he could end up being benched.
  17. Still remember that era being around the time Gretna were flying up the leagues, bankrolling a charge to then it all end in tears. Just looked, and they qualified for Europe when in 1st Division Can’t remember the striker they had who scored like 40+ each season.

    Players in public

I could see Jonjo going into our youth set up as a coach. Intelligent footballer, so get him doing his badges, plenty to pass onto the younger players, especially the mentality side which he’s had to overcome many times.
  19. Knee still waiting to explode.
  20. Feels there’s enough noise coming out from Italy that one of our signings will come from Seria A.
  21. Still think about how we tossed away that final home game, proper inexperienced stuff which we will have learnt from. Look at AC Milan run in Europa, Rennes then Slavia Prague, Roma in QFs which I would've backed ourselves to win and it's Leverkusen in SF where we likely would've come up short. That run may have resulted in not needing to do a PSR deal that saw Anderson go either Won a trophy since and back in UCL, so not an annoyance anymore.
  22. Flamengo apparently want at least 25m Euros for Wesley :/ That feels a good deal we should be going for. Him, Tino and Hall is a collection of full backs that sort us out for many seasons.
  23. Is Isak really being slagged off because he hasn’t come out and said he bleeds black and white? We don’t deserve nice things.
  24. I still expect him to sign a new contract, 5 year deal to 2030. If he’s still banging in goals, the move will be there in 2028 if he wants to play for one of the elite before he’s finished, as he’ll be 28 going on 29, and at his physical peak. If we’ve moved forward and are close to Prem and gone deep in UCL couple of times, it may be he wants to stay and chase down Shearer record.
