Great. One chance of getting rid and the boat is sailing off. Hopefully it’s to milk an extra £1-£2m and not a repeat of Almiron in the summer.
-
Ending day tomorrow in top 4 would be some turn around from us.
-
Might see Chiesa, but that would mean Salah coming off which won’t ever happen.
-
Chris Wood is stupidly good this season.
-
Says more about our squad depth IMO. Barnes is regularly the first one subbed when he’s started this season, which isn’t a ringing endorsement. He’s a good squad option, but I’m not going to lose any sleep if he leaves.
-
But they will need to nail a striker because Watkins is getting older. Need to nail a few big signings IMO. Their best player and most key in the centre was signed by Gerrard for £0.

Smashing goals at SJP for Georgia at Euro28.

Right character, it carries a lot during their early to mid 20s. It's when Isak is around 28 he'll want to move to an elite side if he's at top of his game and we don't look like offering the major trophies. I've got no concern on him leaving any time soon. Fully expect him to sign a new contract in summer that puts him close to £200k (with some bonuses) and if we don't bring the trophies by 2028, he'll be wanting a move and that's fair. Should be 2+1 left on his contract at that point, where if he's at top of his game, £80m fee would be fair and we've had like 5 seasons of his enjoyment.

Yea, that's Monchi and works well when Emery is getting results. But doesn't leave club in a good state over a longer time because it's often bloated and quite a bit of crap left over. Core of their team in Martinez, Konsa, McGinn, Watkins as the fans know it, when they're moved on in coming seasons I can see them being a bit lost.
-
I said it before, Villa will be looking to upgrade on Malen in summer. They're full scatter gun in attack trying to replace what they had in Diaby.
-
Say there’s a hypothetical bid, would it be better to have the fee amortised at a loss of 1m-2m on books for next 3 seasons, instead of 5m? We’re making a loss, so may as well reduce it. That said, does anyone know when his contract expires? Can’t see anything online.

Can’t tell if is just the opposition, but he looked really quick. There was times he was running back to win ball, and he was eating yards quicker than I’ve seen any of our players do. Absolute traction of a left foot. I’m onboard that there’s something to work with him and he can become a real good 2nd choice striker next season.
-
One thing I’ll give Targett for him to remain in the squad, he’s the closest to Hall without us needing to change our style. Not for the progressive passes, but for the unselfish overlaps that Hall gives Gordon, and the deliveries (which weren’t good yesterday by large). Kelly playing LB would not give us that. Which again points Kelly as a weird signing because he’s effectively 3rd choice LCB for at least another season.

Gordon for me has an elite mentality. Wants to play every minute and show he’s the best. Always said since start of season, for him to go to that next level to back up his mentality, he needs to add goals. Ones like against Arsenal mid week prime example. Just get in at that back post and score, doesn’t need to be fancy finishes, just get them in the net. Then opposition will be even more scared of him, because not only has he the work rate / ball retention / movement, it’s the goals that scare opposition. The new RW will then have so much more time to impact game too as opposition can’t double up on every key player.

I would want to keep Longstaff because it’s good to have your depth that HG and attachment. But Longstaff is regularly showing his limitations, has a last window of value and much needed cash to reinvest and lastly, Miley is replacing him for point one. Rather we parted our ways with the memories good, then it ending like how it is with Almiron for example, which will happen if Longstaff isn’t sold in summer IMO. Fly on the wall, I’d love to know if we even considered Longstaff in the PSR deal last summer? Or said no, you can have Anderson?
-
Fun enough tie with them having spent and in form.
-
Professional 2nd half once the main guys came on.
-
If he can't be trusted to do it against Bromley in his main position, what's the point? Better off selling if an offer is there in summer for £30m+ and getting a different back up option since Gordon is main guy.
-
Don't let Gordon have it
-
Didn't play midweek, so often it's good for the body to still be playing regularly and not have too long off.
-
Damning for Barnes that. Been argued enough, but if an offer of £30m+ is there in summer, we need to sell Barnes. Get someone else as back up LW knowing Gordon is main guy.
-
Them on and it's done quick game. More we leave it, the more bitty the game becomes and they'll be coming on anyway.
-
Just get Bruno on for Longstaff.
-
Trippier been as bad.
