I’d argue their form this season hasn’t been much related to UCL and just been outright poor inconsistency. Not had multiple key injuries, still signed multiple players in January. Overall to date it’s been a good season for them, going far in UCL, in a domestic cup and still got a good chance of Europe next season. Next 2 months will shape if it moves into great or poor season.

Think Osula has had more shots on goal than Hojlund this season. Hojlund is really bad for a striker, not seen anything like it for having so little shots There’s Man Utd defenders who have had more efforts on goal this season.

Probably come down a fraction, but still not near enough. Why they’ve been most desperate to get rules relaxed because there’s such little head room for them. Duran is to balance out some of their recent spending. UCL run will enable some spending, but they won’t have the big spaces people think, unless they move someone on who generates that, I.e Watkins or to a lesser extent, Ramsey.

They’re operating at a very high wage to turnover ratio, where even with UCL money and Duran sale, they’re going to be limited (especially if they were to make Asensio and/or Rashford permanent deals). Probably could see them moving on someone for big money to allow Monchi another wild spend.

Agree overall, but because teams are constantly slipping up doesn't mean we can keep afford to doing it. The squad will decide if we get Europe or not from now on to the end. Unlike last season, we’ve largely been on the good side of injuries this season which if it balances out over rest of season, you probably have one or two key players miss a couple of games. Someone like Villa getting Asensio/Rashford, whilst a short term high cost gamble, that could be what gets them top 7. We now need Barnes to chip in, Osula/Wilson when they’re inevitably called upon and the midfield continuing what they’ve gone recently (Willock / Miley). Villa / Brighton away games could have a massive FA Cup SF at Wembley in-between, Ipswich game then likely rearranged for midweek after Chelsea game would be my guess. All swings about, but I’d say in terms of fixtures and wins, the WHU and Leicester A games are must wins because we don’t want to be relying on home form needing to immaculate.

Yep. Perfect player that for LCM if we want to keep a player that can run with ball (like Willock) but also maintain possession as we evolve as a side. Just feel the boat has sailed on him regarding value. Deal was there summer 2023 IMO. Clear talent, now you are going to be looking at £70m+ and soon as you get to that territory, you are better off going elsewhere for value because no player is worth that unless they’re legit unique talents.

Single-handedly is always a bit hyperbole, but when there’s a big game, big moments needed in games, Salah has yet again multiple times produced. Yea others have all played well and provide platform, but it’s often Salah the magician at the end that unlocks it and more often is at centre of the biggest moments in games.

Don’t understand what he was doing for goal. Like he could easily slide in and tapped it like a normal person, instead it was almost like he was going to shield it in, realised late on it wasn’t going in and had to adjust to get something on it Proper weird finish.

Rather we approach star game sitting off, 5-3-2 stuff, it be turgid and we make it difficult for them to win 1-0, whilst we we threaten little. Then come final, we approach it differently and take it to them, try and catch them sleeping in the early stages before going back defensive.
