  1. If he scored 8 goals, he himself would not be asking for that deal. He’d be asking for a minimum 2 year deal on circa £80k pw wages, because that’s what he’d be looking for elsewhere and likely have an offer close to that on the table.
  2. The key for it to work in the prem for me is having someone who can progress the ball between the lines in the CM or at least one of the CBs. It’s all going to be on De Ligt who I don’t rate at all. As it can be easier to push the wing backs back as we saw done with Diallo, then it’s left to the attack who can be isolated if you are needing to go long distances to get it to them.
  3. Don’t know what the crack is with him. Seemingly holding out for a really good job, but not sure what that is. Like he turned down Ajax, who are not of their old, but still a good enough gig if you back yourself to be title challengers. West Ham should be his job, doesn’t take that when it comes soon, I’m not sure what will be his next job.
  4. All game by game, but a win MNF and 6th (1 point off UCL spaces), feels a big momentum swing going into the winter run which usually decides how the 2nd half of the season will go. I.e. A drift where we need to close down to make Europe, or in the positions and maintain, focusing just on league (a la 22-23).
  5. Think he will be left side with Willock, and rotate to right side with Gordon during game. Same team if all available as last game, just with Kelly in for Burn.
  6. Yep, nothing stopping a club owner covering losses with his own money, time and time again, then turning around down the line and saying “I’m now calling in these loans” or when going to sell “I want these loans paying back in full”, and the club is then fucked. But as long as the club stay below the elite, people don’t care. Rules still and won’t protect clubs from bad owners/going bust, all about protecting the established ones. TV deal collapsed at some point, I can sure bet rules will be well balanced that sees the top 6 protected from the fall out, and the other 14 suck up the fallout.
  7. Does he ever play well against us? Always feels like he’s proper shit and has so much respect for Bruno, he’s scared to get involved against him so just goes missing.
  8. I mean, we urgently need a RW. Because it’s not just one we need in a short space of time, it’s two. As both Almiron and Murphy really should be tracking 0 minutes 25-26 if we are to take steps forward (well Murphy could as a proper emergency RB). So need to get a top one now, then a development one. Minteh was the development one, but a too good an offer came in at a time when we needed an urgent sale.
  9. Mean the early hype that got him his move to PSG.
  10. He’s been their best player. Volley aside which should do better, he’s only one that’s creating things and largely being good with the ball.
  11. It’s amazing how many wingers Pep is destroying. Just like Grealish, he’s literally night and day to what he was like at Girona. Running through and shooting/scoring without thinking twice.
  12. The joys of playing in the Portuguese league for a dominant club.
  13. Not scoring at home against 10 men
  14. Like Pep will just have Man City pinging long balls over top for Haaland. They’ll stick to passing out the back, and fuck themselves over when Gundogan is shite again, gifting chances to Spurs.
  15. Madueke so good and stepping up this season. If only we targeted him and went up to 60m+ for him in summer instead of Guehi, legit chance he’d be at us.
  16. Cooper to be next manager sacked.
  17. Botman will be back from an ACL quicker then him ffs. First a little pec injury, and here we are like 6 months later.
  18. The big 6 would love the other 14 clubs to basically be full of Mike Ashleys. No ambition, no trouble.
  19. Pretty much, as it was seen I assume in his eyes, a gamble worth taking because getting back into Premier League straight away was needed. Could cut losses, sold and not reinvest, but 2 seasons outside of Prem would have a bigger impact (club value and money), then it would be to spend to get out, and have the Prem TV money cover things again.
  20. Surprised how low Arsenal are there. Feels like they were the first to make big strides, and over time, the others have overtaking them. 2028 when they can change up kit and stadium sponsor, so assume a big leap will be incoming then, and Chelsea will be seeking one too (still have no sponsor ). So that gap only going to get even bigger to us whilst we stand still. Should be a regular top 8 side, that may have the occasional run to top 4/5 if the cards are good for us that season, but going to lose players to keep that position and never ever have any hope of making a serious play. Spurs are tragic for where their club is though.
  21. Thought the sponsors would flow in by now, but I can only assume it’s being held off to end of season to see if we’re in Europe to get a boost. Find it hard to believe we would buy Guehi and need to sell, when we have fuck all assets to sell without it being a signing we’ve made under new owners.
  22. Striker you expect us to be creative with if funds are limited. Someone on a free who’s experienced (DCL…), or someone who’s raw but talented from abroad. As Isak is number 1 guy, so why spend £40m+ on someone who’s back up to that when we have other pressing areas to address of genuine starting quality to up the bar. Then if they can play outwide, I’d rather it be a specialist outwide, who could fill in up top in exceptional circumstances, instead of other way round, if it needs to be someone to cover two position.
  23. Linking to some of this, the atmosphere is often quite shit though, because that's how the lopsided stadium lends towards and would only get worse with an expansion. For the ticket prices, no need for them to go up any more than current rate of inflation. Whether we're at SJP or not, if club is in Europe consistently, the ticket prices will rocket up to levels we've never seen before which will get people moaning. If the avenues are restricted for new/young fans to get a ticket, then the atmosphere petters out eventually as we all become miserable old guys who still rock up to have a moan and sit largely in silence unless there's some action.
  24. Then how can we be more like Brentford but with a bigger budget? Brentford have dropped a load of money on players that haven't really improved them. Wages are low, but money is still spent. What's that for us to aspire too? Hall/Tino are ones of Brentford style in recent years but better and bigger. If it's that, then sure. If not, then I'm confused to what we want to copy from Brentford when their current success is still about maximising the squad from 2018/19. Mbeumo is probably their last decent sellable asset too, after that, it's all their recent buys where they need them to step up to make money since they have no-one youth wise to integrate and sell, and likely a contributor to the lowly wages as more is needed to be spent on signing players for continuous depth.
