  1. Probably the most confident of winning going into a game this season. At home, way Brighton play under the new manager suits us, time off from internationals where majority of our starting XI would’ve been on the training ground. Just no excuses.
  2. Actual top quality number 9s are so few and far as well. How many clubs in recent years have sold their top striker and replaced with similar quality or spent big on a replacement in hope the new guy progresses?

Think giving how Tuchel has been wrapped up quick, he knew he was off so tried something wild out of a ‘fuck it, only one chance I’ll get’ approach. Tuchel is a poor short term appointment, that just causes issues heading to home Euros as he won’t be here.
  4. Not for me. A home tournament is a once in a lifetime chance, and any English manager will be all over it. Just for our situation, it’s England needing to pay the compensation. Even if Howe wanted it, walked out, took it a few weeks later, we’d be taking England to court to pay and it be messy. Or England pay up, which they don’t seem willing to these days. Think we’re safe, as if England wanted Howe, they would’ve got him already.
  5. I’d love Guler and probably would say a winter loan with option to buy may be possible. Feels he’s similar situation to Oddegard, where there’s the talent, but pathway not there within main XI at Real Madrid, so if a deal can be made before he gets a breakout chance, do it.

The defending pure jokes Get a back 5 of Pope: Tino, Trippier, Burn, Hall started.

    Scott McTominay

He’s in the perfect team under Conte. Won’t be asked to do stuff he’s not capable of, and can do more of the box crashing.
  8. Carsley obviously must like him to keep him involved with the squad.
  9. God forbid they turn us into a sustainable club, that produces home grown talent and regularly is in the frame to battle for UCL and titles when the stars align for that season. How would we cope with that.
  10. They were a top 10 prem club arguably before, and probably where they would've remained forever (like us) without the funds, as the top sides kept others at arms length. Not like they're some village club that had no fans, no history, nothing before rocking the house at the top.
  11. It is still decided on the pitch. May as well disband the World Cup, because nations can't compete with large nations who have massive GDP.
  12. BIG SPONSORSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT NOW
  13. Brighton lack the midfield quality of previous seasons and are regularly playing a high line under this new manager. I'd be starting Murphy against these because his directness on the right with the high line is something that will make him look amazing. I'd even go with Barnes over Gordon, based on Barnes training with squad in lead up to game (and again, high line suiting him). Ideally Isak fit and would also go with Willock in CM, due to his ability to dribble through the lines which exposes opposition high lines. Pope: Trippier, Schar, Burn, Hall: Willock, Bruno, Tonali: Barnes, Isak, Murphy
  14. Went back in 30 mins ago, and L7E whole batch was available, so got 2 in the end. They weren't there earlier, so random how they become available later on. Must've released some more as the demand was there.
  15. But why do we need to choose Burn though? There's post saying he's limited playing out, only going to get slower. So if you are going to evolve the team, what situation next season are you going to be going "Yep, need Burn for this game". Every chance we get the last out of him this season, but it shouldn't cloud the judgement that we need to keep him on say a new 2 year deal.
  16. Broken. Got in, scatter of seats available, each time I went to select they disappear. Now all gone Oh well.
  17. First time this season getting on at 10am for the general sale for members, 11k in the queue
  18. The period after this international break is when the games start to ramp up and Europe does have an impact. This is where we need to take advantage of having no Europe, especially if it’s against sides who have played in Europe. Like Villa yesterday for example where done after their European game, but had a terrible Man Utd side. If that’s us playing, I’d expect a high tempo where it can’t be matched across the 90. We’ve been poor, but if season starts now, it’s a good base to start from as the points are on the board. Keeping Isak fit for rest of season and having Wilson back to chip in is the key to getting top 5 though. Without those, there’s no chance as we’re not technically savvy enough to get through games without a striker and win, as we don’t control the ball well.

No issue with that. Just similar to Hall for me (who thankfully got a break later in season) where at their young age, you need to be either getting some game time for first team or getting consistent minutes in U23/loan depending on where your level is. Otherwise, the development stalls. Thankfully he’ll get minutes during each international break, but I think there’s a valid argument for sending him out on loan in January for 2nd half of season so he can hone his game at Championship level. Going to be 22 next season.
  20. Because we should be only keeping one of Schar or Burn IMO, and Schar is the better use. Don’t bring in Kelly on £100k+ pw back up to then still keep Burn, just would be strange. I believe we wanted a CB this summer, and then likely one next summer who’s probably of a younger age. Getting none this summer shouldn’t change that requirement/plan next summer. He’s a great lad, local, and yea would be cheap wages compared to others. But let’s be honest, if we are moving forward as a club, you can’t be having him getting solid minutes next season. And we need to learn to move players on at the right time when opportunity is there.
  21. Why not both and 2 proven players on top? Like we should be in a position come next summer with these no longer at the club: Burn, Lascelles, Almiron, Wilson. And on top, should be open to Pope, Trippier and Longstaff or Willock going. That’s a lot of wages freed up, and quite a few signings needed, both of young age that’s got resale/longevity, and of players that improve XI, with say Schar / Joelinton becoming good squad depth.
  22. Christ, we should batter Brighton after international break with this high line.
  23. This has been a proper crap game from both sides. Niggly and no quality shown.
  24. Surely there’s a difference to carrying out the pressing plan which can take time to learn get fitness, then there’s to playing in defence? Just looks very limited, which is fair, but not when he’s on £100k+ and we’ve got him for rest of decade. Likely going to end up being in 18 months time at best, 3rd choice LB and 5th choice CB.
