It really is amazing we went through a whole transfer window without a CEO and DoF. Just mental really Follows on last summer of having a half hearted DoF. Hopefully next summer is boring as, with key deals wrapped up before WC.

Have to be here when under 21.

Thaiw is most intriguing signing for me in terms of when they will play. All others you know they will play significant minutes and many starts (Ramsdale aside), but Thaiw? Not a clue. At £30m+, and Schar contract ending this summer, you’d think he has to take over soon? But then I don’t think Howe will have any intention of ever breaking up Schar / Burn unless he’s forced too (Botman then in when it’s a three).

Our youths are still so shit. Just way off it.

Yea, this is one of my major gripes with PSR. If it has to stay, at least increase the 3 year loss amount. Average players cost 50m+, the sky 6 after hoarding up all the young talent are then moving them on for £20m-£30m as it’s better value for the lower prem clubs. Clubs in the middle then get squeezed out of contention. Sky 6 can then spend and keep the gap going over rest.

Can see this being like Brentford 23-24. Where we started slowly, international break, and that home game was a must win. One we was stronger on paper, but a side that could hurt us still, and it was a proper nervy affair. Got the win thanks to a classic Gordon penalty win and we then went on a run. Would like to see the below side: Pope: Tino, Schar, Burn, Hall: Tonali, Bruno, Ramsey: Barnes, Woltemade, Elanga Then UCL night, Wissa, Joelinton, Gordon and Thaiw in for Schar, Ramsey, Barnes, Woltemade

There was links of Jota leaving during the season as much as Nunez. Think they were ready to completely revamp that attack through the middle, because Jota (injuries) and Nunez (shit) were inconsistent for them for different reasons and it was last chance to get best value for them.

Does he watch any of our games? Literally one of (if not the most?) progressive passes of the ball in our side last season

I mean we do? Right now, we're not going to challenge for title as we just lost our star striker to the current champions. So ceiling with Isak is potential challenges (as our form last sesaon did nearly drag us into the conversation for 1 week ), without it's try and qualify for UCL. Players may develop and that ceiling raises again, but right now it is lower. We've pushed that ceiling up in the past by developing players and pushing beyond current levels of ability of some, and that's what we'll have to do again.

I'm hoping this window has been a reality check for Ruben / Yasir, and they've got a bloodied nurse as a result from thinking they could be number 1. They then let Howe do his thing off the pitch with the squad and start making strong plays off it to dish out their own punches next summer. That's the response we need after this summer if PIF have still got stated aims of being number 1. Unless they are somehow detached from the world, they will know in all walks of life, there's going to be setbacks and it's the response that's key. 1 step back and 2 steps forward, is better than staying still and thinking everything is fine.

I really want them to wobble and drop off, especially as we move into November and December because managing the egos of Ekitike and Isak if one is reguarly not starting when side is faultering will be fun to watch. Slot has also shown to have a short fuse, which if you throw that into the mix, will be tasty. But it firstly needs a side to stick it to them in the league. Our approach was the perfect one, as it riled up the players and Slot. Didn't get a late winner, he would've imploded at FT.

I love Gordon, but if he has another season like last one and there’s a £70m+ bid there, we have to sell him regardless who offers it Just said in another thread about Barnes being the winger sold next season to provide scope for the evolution of our attack, but that’s based on Gordon getting back to 23-24 levels.
-
Trippier, Schar and Willock the moving on and replacements / upgrades next summer. Then I’d argue one or both of Murphy / Barnes moving on and replacements in for something different outwide as we evolve our attacking options. Strong season, we are one summer window away from cementing our place permanently in the top group IMO.
-
Was the majority of the side on Isak side? Starting to think they were Scenes when players are more pissed we sold him, rather than keeping him and rewarding him with a new deal.
-
The one positive of signing Botman to new deal, his remaining book value next summer is £7m, so new deal will mean he’s near enough no cost. Selling him will give us a boost, but then someone else will be higher book value and we will have to sign another CB anyway next summer because surely Schar moves on? Edit: essentially I’m on side at the moment (irrelevant to social media post) that he’s sold next summer, but if club plan to move on Schar, I can understand the rationale and the need to keep him, both for ability and not wanting to sign two defenders. Just please have an injury free season first.
-
I’d say it’s more your best mate Mrs has cheated on him and left, then your Mrs likes the picture of your mates ex Mrs with her new partner that she cheated with. Just unnecessary aggro if your mate is still not over it.
-
Unless he has an injury free period and then signs a new deal, I’m 70/30 in thinking (and wanting) him to be sold next summer. As Botman will be seen as Burn successor, but if Burn is still at great levels do you put a lot of wage into Botman that is stop start injuries, or sell with 12 months left and get another young defender in who can push Burn for 26-27 season.
-
Also this is a man that turned down surgery on his knee, thick as mince was confirmed a while ago.
-
Yea, new deal at these terms or I’m off. Which he will have a fucking cheek to demand high wages when he’s been injured loads and still uncapped by Holland.
-
I can’t see anyone agitating a move, but if we miss out on UCL and don’t get key players tied down, we are open to being picked apart, especially now players know if they go on strike the deal will happen.

Likes of Tino / Hall are priceless, can’t scout their replacements in the short term. Tino is exceptional at RB and LB, that type of full back and English is rare. Then Hall will be HG next season, just beyond selling at any price point.
