    Yoane Wissa

Howe spoke about Wissa during press conference: - routine scan yesterday - remains on-track and ready to push harder - don’t expect immediate results and will take up to 6 weeks once he’s training, before we see the very best of him That last answer was very much the usual Howe cautious approach.
  2. 100%. He’ll go in Jan or Summer to a Saudi club for £100m. Just like they funded some of the Isak fee through the Nunez signing.
  3. Any idea if that is including or excluding money in from Isak sale?
  4. My biggest hate is when Premier League refs let everything go for 20 minutes and then stamp down when they feel like they’re losing control. Same for yellows - no yellows for half an hour then every foul after seems a yellow. At least the ref last night seemed consistent throughout.
  5. Didn’t watch the game so can’t comment on performance. Stats from the first half looked awful. Brighton have beaten Man City and drew with Tottenham so you have to play well at Brighton to win, and it seems we were far from it. Surprised we didn’t rotate a few players. It’s a double whammy this season when we lose and have not used an opportunity to rotate. Easier set of fixtures coming up now.
  6. A lot of people I spoke to out there were using corporate away tickets. Does anyone know if the person who fell off the lion statue in the square pre-match is ok?
  7. Don’t mind the rotation, but hate that we’re going with a back 5 again…
  8. Just watched the goals back. Both are awful goals to concede - the defensive middle of Pope, Burn and Schar all at fault. Quality showed tonight.
  9. Makes sense against Barca’s high line. Big Nick came off with cramp at the weekend so him playing twice in a few days at the moment doesn’t seem possible until he’s built up fitness. Gordon starting tonight makes more sense than Osula starting on Sunday.
  10. Valencia playing a back 5. Need to avoid this on Thursday.
  11. I’m finding a lot of football shite at the moment. Not sure if that an age thing for me, or whether football is less exciting/interesting now.
  12. But obvious but a good win would really kick start our season. Ramsey and Wissa injuries are a kick in the nuts, but then I thought Tonali and Joe would be out for a while after Liverpool, so trying not to be too downbeat on injuries already.

    St James' Park

If PIF did step in and build it through the club, could we then flog it in a few years for PSR? I know UEFA don’t permit that income so might be a moot point anyway.
  14. I love every time this thread is bumped. Watched the highlights on sky sports yesterday. Some brilliant moments: - Burn just being Burn - Bruno’s emotional interview at full time - Joelinton being every where - Tonali running the midfield - Trippier calmness - Livramento solid as ever and great ball in for the second goal - Barnes being a constant threat and nuisance - Murphy knock back for the goal - Schar dominance - Pope’s save from Jones - Willock helping run down the clock - Utter elation at full time Does rat face spoil this? Not one bit. Anonymous first half. Yes he scored the second goal, but also sloped off at the usual 70 minutes as he was tired. We would have won this without him. We were never getting beat.

    Nick Woltemade

I hate the 3 centre backs formation. Always looks wrong. Think we’ve played it well once when away to Arsenal. But it looked awful Everton at home and Leeds away.
  16. I don’t think you can judge the window just based on signings. 7/10 for players brought in. 2/10 for how we’ve acted like cucks all summer, had zero leadership and have impacted performances in the opening fixtures.
  17. Exactly - they’ve lost all integrity now. Next summer - random clubs bids for Tonali. Newcastle say “not for sale… blah blah blah”. Aye whatever, we have no backbone and buying clubs know in time we’ll just fold. Embrassing by our owners regardless of what happens tomorrow.
  18. Regardless of what signings we may or not make tomorrow, we have shown we’re a club that can be bullied. Isak this summer. Who will it be next summer? Can you blame Tonali for wanting a move next summer if this how we behave as a club?
  19. I’m in the really unhelpful group of he cannot be sold, but I don’t want to see him wear our shirt again. I’ve been in the cannot sell him camp since the beginning. I moved from reintegrate to cannot play for us again when I watched the effort of our team at home to Liverpool.
  20. Woltemade is Isak’s replacement. But Isak can be Wilson’s replacement and be a squad player if he’s still here. If we need to sell Isak to fund a second striker, then it’s also true we don’t need to sell Isak and he can be the second striker. We also don’t need to accept a low ball offer from Liverpool, as we can sell him for just as much next summer as what a low ball offer would be now. Woltemade transfer may be domino 1, buts it’s also our most important domino which gives us a lot of leverage.
  21. Could have tougher, could have been worse. Ive compared our draw to a few other sides and think its middle of the pack.
  22. The holders are at home. Yes, yes we are!! Beautiful!
