I think that just emphasises how bad the referees are in the Premier League.

Agree with everything being said. Even reading some of the replies to this thread today have sent shivers. Greatest day of my life. Burn’s header being the greatest moment. Walked past several people in floods of tears just at half time. But feeling like we’ve got this now. Tears then flowed at full time - but equally just wanted to stay in that moment forever and soak it all in. Travelling home the next day like we had been victorious at war. Feeling a buzz still on the streets of Newcastle. Topped off wonderfully with the trophy parade. Beautiful.

Interesting. It does make you wonder why we voted for it… But as much as it’s a pain now, it means we’re safe top 8 and have the most potential to push on. It’ll be a big push, but we need to maximise revenue through sponsors, improved infield performance and new stadium.

Clean sheet black and white army! Get in!!
-
They’ll get a dodgy VAR decision next week. But fuck it - let’s do them at the Nou Camp. Big IF we defend well, we will score at least once. This is not over yet.

The noise when that hit the net was phenomenal

In relation to where we currently are as a club and PSR rules, I completely agree. Unless Wissa, Wolt or Elanga come good, then we’re probably looking at a £70m+ hit which means we effectively let Isak go on a free. There’s definitely been worse windows on a signings perspective, but I don’t think there’s been one which has effectively knocked us back as a club when you take in to consideration the spending rules.
-
I think we’ll go 5 at back as we need to stop being so easy to play against. Keeper - whoever makes no difference Trippier - Thiaw - Botman - Burn - Hall Ramsey - Tonali - One of the Joe’s Hopefully a Striker - Gordon or Barnes
-
What a difference a decent keeper makes!
-
We should do what Dortmund does - set a fixed price with a fixed deadline that gives us time to get a replacement. If it doesn’t happen then we don’t sell. Backing down on Isak 2 days before transfer deadline was the stupidest thing we did.
-
Agreed. We’ve conceded 23 goals at home this season in the league which is the 3rd worst. Our attacking numbers are ok. A lot of it stems from having a pair of awful goalkeepers. A dodgy keeper creates nervousness throughout the rest of the team.

Thanks - I have edited the original post to remove ‘lazy’ from it as wasn’t aware of that trope and don’t want to cause offence. Yes, a bit tongue in cheek as hoping to reverse jinx in to form like several others I have naively written off… It’s a typical situation where if a player is performing then no one notices how many sprints he makes, but if he’s underperforming then every aspect is scrutinised. Particularly when transfer fee was so large (not his fault).
-
You would have thought I’d learn my lesson by now after being proven wrong by so many players I have written off. But… just watch Wissa warming up. He half arses his stretches and one of slowest in the sprints. 4 year contract so book value of £44m in the summer… if we can get £30m for him in the summer then taking a £14m hit isn’t too bad.

Knockout Champions League football! Bring it on!!
-
Rubbish it’s city…. But… 1) it’s at home 2) City won’t have Exeter home while we had extra time few days before league cup 3) Champions League straight after so probably rotate a bit Not ideal, but I fancy is to win this one.
-
Full strength and try to tie up this round then rest for home leg (if we’re lucky enough). We’ll get nowt away to a rested City anyway.
-
Winning last night was huge. My view now is… Win this and we’re still in the FA Cup and all good. Lose this and we’re avoiding fixture congestion which will be key for us to win our mini 7th place league table. If we had of lost last night then this would have been a must win.
-
For me it’s simple - our squad needs a rebuild. If Howe is unwilling through loyalty or stubbornness then part ways in the summer. If he is willing, then I’d give him another season. How he becomes effective with a league and European campaign… that’s a worry, but don’t think that’s going to be a problem next year.
-
Battle for 10th. Sack it off and focus fully on cup tie at Villa.
-
Howe is a legend and best manager I’ve witnessed at the club. But - squad needs a rebuild. Does he have the energy and ruthlessness to carry that out? I wouldn’t him blame for stepping aside at the end of the season.

Disaster of a signing. Lazy bastard. One point in the first half we had an element of pressing and their centre half ended up carrying ball 60 yards, as he was pissing about in the middle. Don’t hold out much hope, but PIF need to save us from the PSR loss in the summer with this one.
