  1. Fuck sake Schar. Get in line with the rest of your defence.
  2. Hopefully we take a bit of a gamble and add a couple to the squad that offer something different. Villa last season were only 3 points worse than us at this point, and they remained 9th/10th until end of March. But they added that bit extra quality in January (Asensio and Rashford) to push on for a few months.
  3. You forgot to mention that a forward, midfielder and winger are all subbed off on the hour mark… for a forward, midfielder and winger
  4. We’re playing easy/safe football. We need to be braver. We need to try something different. Passing side to side to whip in a cross is our style. Try a few long shots Try taking players on Try different combination of subs Try Wolte and Wissa together We can’t just go game to game calling out individual players. The players at fault differ. This is a bigger problem than individual players. We are low on confidence, but please, please try something different…
  5. He seemed to injure his knee a few minutes before the injury. I remember Lascelles walking off after doing his acl. Please, please be an acl!
  6. Perfect representation of our season. Some good (especially first half) and some bad (especially second half). Rubbish goals to concede. Unlucky not to win with dodgy ref decisions. But there are too many examples now of dropping points when leading and not gaining points when winning. Unless we have a big Jan transfer window then can only see us finishing mid table having won, drew and lost the same number of games with a goal difference of 0.
  7. Just my opinion but I thought Sunday’s setup was cowardly and a mess. There were many occasions when you see our defence and midfield in flat lines with Xhaka orchestrating in front. Neville (one of the worst managers in history) was calling it that our midfield and defence were far too deep which left Nick isolated. Gordon and Elanga played poorly but they kept receiving the ball in our own half and having to run it up the pitch. The only reaction we got was due to going a goal behind. It was not proactive, it was totally reactive. How many times do we make triple subs on the hour. Then as the game went on, as has happened many times this season with subs, we ended up a mess. Willock running in to space that Hall would need etc. No structure at all. In general I don’t think Howe is a coward, but the cowardly setup and performance on Sunday is on him.

Agreed - I’ve always thought it better than injured players start with a proper warm up. Rather than 30 mins late on after a few sprints/stretches down the touchline. Based on Howe’s comments, I think he starts.
  9. The whole interview was waffle. Even blamed our lack of intensity on injuries to Botman, Burn, Lascelles and Joelinton… Howe has proven me wrong many times before, so fingers crossed we win tomorrow and have a cup semi final to look forward to.
  10. Fairest way would be to allocate more tickets to the ballot including giving members a chance. I’ve got enough points to go to most away games which were built up over many years, but that shouldn’t give me the right to guaranteed away ticket. The loyalty argument is a load of bollocks. I don’t think I’m more or less loyal than majority of other supporters just because I’ve been able to build up a few points. I went to those games because I wanted to, not to build up points. The alternative is we do nothing and the atmosphere just continues to die a slow death. The home atmosphere is less of an issue. Even during peak Robson years the atmosphere wasn’t great for your average run of the mill match.
  11. 0 points from losing positions this season is damning. Add to that, let’s say roles reversed today and we’re 1-0 up going in to the final 10 minutes. We all know how that ends. Pathetic.
  12. Bruce in disguise? Copy and paste? Our cowardly approach was the main reason we offered nothing in attack.
  13. What are we supposed to be transitioning? Less intensity and more cowardly? Didn’t even change the formation up when chasing a goal…
  14. What were then last two minutes… acting tough like they gave a shit throughout the whole match. Stop taking us like idiots. That was a cowardly and pathetic performance. Only Bruno seemed to give a shit.
  15. 100% coward. We didn’t even get a manager or a team that tried today. Gutless.
  16. Agreed. Think players are playing to their instructions from Howe. Hopefully we’re a bit braver and on front foot at start of second half.
  17. One thing that last summer taught me is that journos haven’t got a clue about our transfer dealings.
  18. I think there was an element of pre-empting what was about to happen that seemed to be lacking. His feet were planted so wasn’t then able to spring when he did see the ball. It would have been a good save though if he had of made it. In general, I flip between emotions at the moment: Viewpoint 1: - a few things fall our way and we’re very close to be a champions league qualifying team again - we’re well positioned in the champions league - we’ve got a winnable cup quarter final coming up - back room executive staff now in place Viewpoint 2: - frustrations that we aren’t higher up in the league - some players not performing as well as they could - concerns our signings won’t be good enough - hangover from selling the rat and the perception that creates about being a club that can’t kick on and still sells I try to focus on viewpoint 1 and just enjoy the journey we’re all on. But last night really drives the frustrations! Feels like one step forward and two steps back at times.
