Just checked that Villa u18 are league leader of South & ours are at lower half of Northern table. Has there a nation wide league, we would have been in 2nd division. My opinion is football at academy level can't be judged around result & league standings. There's no guarantee that 10 yrs later the Villa squad from today will have more professionals than ours.

If newly crowned U-21 euro champion Trafford get linked to us last season as Pope's understudy, we would be hailing about the prospect of the deal . But a struggling season in an underpar team changes everything.

Somewhere I heard that Rudy is replacement of our Goalkeeper coach who is out with an ACL in late season. So Gillespie and Rudy might be filling the position, so he could be karius replacement is still a possibility. But Its hard to imagine that Odysseus guy would agree to take the roll of 3rd choice keeper while still at his late 20s, a keeper with that much experience in top level. There's also a possibility that we might sell him again in the same window and the deal is just a way to scratc Forests back.
