Would like to see something from Gordon today, especially with him being out for us for few games on account of that silly red. Lad needs to be involved in goals. I imagine he'll get minutes when Barcelona visit us but Koundé is decent and can't imagine that much joy there.

Sorry if it's already been posted. Lineup:

Aye you're right on preseason and minutes for these CAF WC qualifiers. I did go back and have a little look to see what had happened and it was an awkward slip in the Senegal box. Uploaded a clip. Hope he's alreet. https://streamable.com/e/1ovtzz (expired)

He'd went down a couple times prior and medical staff were waiting. Was flexing/extending his leg when down. Hopefully just cramp.
-
Wissa off at 73' with a bit of a limp. Hope he's all good. Didn't really get that involved in the game but has been targetted a bit. Still scored due to those good box instincts.

He comes off most games around 60 mins, especially when DRC are up. Decent performance. Glad he got the goal. South Sudan aren't the most difficult to play against, will be interested in the Senegal game Tuesday.

I disagree with this sentiment. After this international break we've got a game on average every 3⅔ days. That's going to require us to rotate regularly. I imagine Howe will trust Wissa more with his age/experience in the Prem, but there'll be minutes all over the place. Here's hoping injuries don't stifle us. 🤞

Will preface by saying I haven't read every single message prior in this little debate. That said: Morality and ethicality are not the same thing. You'd be hard pressed to find swathes of fans who'll applaud our owners on the merit of morality. Ethically, in the business of football (which is what we all chat shit about), we've been for the most part on the up-and-up (Notthingham Forest swap deal aside perhaps?). Bit silly to say we're all hypocrites and should not able to speak out on other clubs flaunting the rules and spirit of football because our owners record on human-rights are atrocious. Apples and oranges. Should we be happy, accepting, disappointed, or upset at the morals of our ownership? A decision like that is personal, requiring deeper introspection and thoughtfulness than you'll see me opining about on N-O. But since we're here (and presumably fans) discussing football and the business of it, it's fair to point out shite when ya see it. I didn't see anyone being moralistic about multi-club ownership (not even sure how that'd work). That said, if they were then ignore all this pish.

Agreed. No chance we spend ~£125m across 2 strikers to bench them. I fully expect Wissa to start. DRC have two WC qualifiers in the next 7 days (Fri 5th & Tues 9th). Wissa has played in every qualifier (6) thus far and usually gets 60 odd minutes.
-
Absolutely correct. Hall, Gordon and even the Rat were all said to be overpayments but you quite quickly forget when they're on the grass (so long as they're not stinking up the joint). I'd say ~15 league goals for Wissa and a few in CL/Cups and you've gotten your value already. Honestly believe he'll become a fan favourite. Only problem now is all the waiting.
-
Aye the stop-start nature is a bit shite and dampens the excitement somewhat. Still, cannae wait for this game to see full squad together. Let's see some goals and a little momentum/confidence built up for Barcelona at home.
-
Hang about. I know I'm late to the party, but did BlueCo just sell Chilwell to BlueCo? Osula can't be sold to Aston Villa because there might be some impropriety, and this stuff is just A-ok? Edit: Can we now use the Saudi league?
-
You seen that fella over at Leeds? Would count to homegrown quota too
-
We've got one of the most exciting up-and-coming strikers out there (Woltemade), a solid prem player (Wissa) while fulfilling our initial window goals of bolstering the right-wing, midfield and defense. Our outgoings have been solid with decent fees and wages being freed up, offloading players on decent wedges who barely saw the grass. 8/10
-
Yoane Wiss' He's taking the piss
-
Well it's an overpay but if we're getting ~£30m for Osula then the pill is far easier to swallow. We've now got the experienced/solid Prem player and the massive potential massive German in the door so I'm happy. We should score some goals.
-
Osula is 4th in depth chart behind Woltemade, Wissa and Gordon. Close to £30m with buyback is amazing business like.

Thinking about Summer 2026 already? You a masochist pal? As per, there's no real knowledge on the PSR situation. We should have approaching £90m from Isak though iirc
