I'd like to think we have some sense that there's a deal to be done if we've bid this much as an opener. Wolves putting it out there that he's "not for sale" strengthens their ability to recruit a replacement without getting fleeced too much (as well as enhances their ability to fleece us ).

On the face of it his article is vague and doesn't bring any new info that Hope hasn't already reported. He's clearly in the know on this deal though, having first broke the news. Might be that he knows something new is going on in the background but wont say exactly what to protect sources? Seems an odd article to write from a reliable journo otherwise.

Aye, and this is the same if you go back and look at the past couple of seasons too - they often get at least what they paid back for players even if they haven't used them much. One of the reasons I'm so keen on Wilson coming here.
