Aye. At first it was obviously to spark a bidding war but now it's to make Parish look good to Palace fans. Tbf I'd want us to do the same if someone came in for one of our crown jewels
-
Yesterday by the Spanish version of FootballInsider, so not really
-
Surprised they didn't manage to get over £10m, he's looked lethal for them. Good business for Girona that
-
Could probably get Mbeumo for that or thereabouts
-
Black and white chevrons on the sleeves as well? Fuck me
-
Might even just be a case of offering £60m up front with no add-on structure
-
Was just about to ask if anyone else thought this. I was under the impression the same bid was rejected at the weekend
-
Aye, funny that Skysports are framing it as if he's been commenting on the transfer interest directly when in reality he was basically asked "are you focused on the weekend's game" and he's replied "yes" which you would want any professional footballer to say!

Wasn't asked directly about the transfer interest and just said he's focusing on the game at the weekend. His personality and professionalism seems fantastic mind.
-
Surely West Ham wouldn't be in for another CB after already spending £80m+ on two this window
-
Was unlikely to ever happen but if he's agreed contract terms then he may be open to other moves, which is good for us I suppose.
-
He looked a bit shocked in the clip when he was asked about whether he'd spoken to Guehi about his future (in the Sky Sports clip I mean)

https://www.telegraaf.nl/sport/1963360942/calvin-stengs-trekt-stekker-uit-deal-met-charlotte-fc-en-blijft-feyenoord-trouw Apparently Charlotte tried to renegotiate Stengs's salary after the medical raised concerns and so he decided to pull the plug on the transfer. Could be good for us. Might mean they're desparate to sign someone before their window shuts.
-
Wonder if they've decided they'd rather put that money + a bit more to get Almiron. Also saw a few comments about them only having one designated player (foreign player) slot open, so might be the case that they've decided they want to fill that slot with Almiron instead of this lad.

Tomorrow night I think
-
So we want about £15m. Seems fair
-
It's fair from Palace - we'd expect us to do exactly the same if someone came in for Gordon or Isak. Also fair now for us to crack on with another target if we've put our max bid in and they're not interested. Think good value can be found elsewhere.
-
I'm not implying you need to progress from the buying wonderkids wholesale strategy to move into the upper echelons, more that you need to do it in order to insure against finding yourself in a relegation scrap after a string of deals don't work out - like Leicester. We've seen plenty of times over the years how precarious a place in the PL can be.
-
I genuinely don't think the model is sustainable over the very long term - say 10+ years (see Southampton and Leicester as you mentioned). At some point if you want to kick on you have to become adept at buying more established players in the 30-55m range and keeping hold of them (a bit like we're hopefully doing now).

He (and others) are absolutely shameless like. Got something seriously wrong with them.
