Nick could follow the pattern of big Joe and Howe could transform him from an ineffective striker to a midfield powerhouse. This past week appears to show us that Howe is trying to find Nick's long term role in this team.

I couldn't care less about us being an 'elite' team personally. It's never been a reason I support this club. I wanted us to compete. We now compete. Anything else is a bonus.

If we got a decent offer this summer I'd sell him. I'd prioritise a quicker striker with better finishing that will lead the press and stop teams pushing us back up the pitch. He's a likeable lad but everytime he plays for us we look toothless up front. Part of that might be our tactics but we are what we are and we need players that fit our system to make it effective.

People take this shit way too personally. He was outstanding for us up until the last 3/4 months of his time with us. He's an elite player and we're not yet, we might never be. He's going into his prime years and most of the top clubs would want him when we're not likely to even be playing in Europe next season. But players the class of Sandro were the type I thought I'd never see pull on the black and white again. Lets not usher them out the door.

I still believe in Eddie. First toon manager to win a trophy in my lifetime and first toon manager to reach the Champs lge knock out round ever. But he and the team have their work cut out this summer reshaping the squad, the quality and the balance isn't right.
