There's no mention we've walked away from this deal yet. Just a lot of toy throwing from the fanbase. Lets wait and see what happens

Ah that's a shame. Really wanted this one to go through.

Loved this advert more than the home one.

Here is the top part. Newcastle's new chief operating officer Brad Miller has revealed the club are in the final stages of reaching a decision on the stadium project Newcastle would prefer to expand St James’ Park rather than relocate. Newcastle United are preparing to write a “once-in-a-generation” cheque to resolve the St James’ Park expansion dilemma – with a definitive decision on next steps now “really, truly” imminent. In a clear sign that the club are in the final stages of a decision on the huge stadium project, Newcastle’s new chief operating officer Brad Miller has offered reassurances over the ownership’s “overwhelming” commitment to invest either in St James’ Park or a new build elsewhere in the city. Miller, who was appointed in June, says the board is now “working through the last couple of questions we’ve got” after the completion of a wide-ranging, six-figure feasibility study into possible options which has included “war gaming” the issues around both a sizeable expansion of St James’ Park and also how a new-build stadium would work in practice. Goes on a bit after this.

I have no issue with that. There's few truly elite clubs
-
I think its more nuanced than bad planning. There are so many factors at play, finances, player availability, player desire, a new sporting director, boardroom/ownership changes and having to comply with PSR. Lots of transfers are interlinked and only happen once another transfer has completed and with this in mind its been a slow market. Plenty of time, we've not sold any major players and are obviously busy negotiating incomings. Lets be positive.

I genuinely dont think we take longer than other clubs, just feels that way as we're closer to the toon. Go on any fans forums of other clubs and they complain about all the same shit we do
-
Very different types of winger with different attributes. Love them both.
-
The stadium is the one. That's the game changer and the one we're going to have to get sorted to truly compete at elite level
-
There's no expectation on him this season. Hopefully he can thrive with Eddie's coaching, playing with top players and being 3rd choice gives you the underdog label. Hopefully it motivates him.
-
I do wonder if we'll get a player on loan with an obligation to buy next summer as per the Hall situation last summer
-
I'm not reading anything into Guehi training at Palace. I'd rather he be full into pre-season than sat on his arse waiting for the deal to be done. Its a major deal. In financial terms the biggest in our clubs history. Be patient and it will happen.

Are they going to blind us to death on opening day?
-
I agree. All the sounds from the player are positive which is another big battle won. I've got faith in this happening. Usually you can sense when its bullshit, but this one feels more likely.

Dont believe the Liverpool story for a second. Nothing to back that up, I just have a gut feel for it. Could be wrong.

The worst Newcastle player you've seen in a match

Here comes the wet knicker brigade overusing the term "worrying"... -
Good point. Although not sure what Guehi's status is off these shores but having high profile players is certainly a strategy for brand growth.
-
Maybe we've realised Murphy is the best RW in world football and we're throwing all our budget at Guehi
-
Think it will be £50-55m plus add-ons for whoever gets him
-
If rumours of his current contract ending in 2026 are true then this makes so much sense for us. He's one of the 4 untouchables as far as I'm concerned.
-
I know we need to balance the books but I hope we get Gordon and Isak tied down to bigger long term deals. Its all gone quiet on Isak's new contract.
-
Sounds like we wont commit to that RW signing until we've unloaded a couple more high earners... my guess is Miggy and Tripps. Think it will go down to the deadline for us to get our man.
